If there were Republicans that voted for this bill, and conservatives threaten to vote them out of office, wont there be a greater chance of their seats being filled with democrats?
Just off the top of my head, I think Franken/Coleman is still not seated. Maybe Kennedy and/or a n0bama admin member's former seat?
This was the vote for cloture not on the bill.
Corker?
Another fool!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS ISN’T A DONE DEAL FOLKS!
$4.2 billion of my money for a Black racist political organization, ACORN.
We are done folks...they will use that money to assure Democrats win every election from now on...coupled with the census department run by the White House.
FRAK!!
Nice knowin’ ya, America.
This is the vote to end cloture — vote on the bill is tomorrow morning.
This was the cloture vote.
Apparently.
Let’s deluge Michael Steele with demands these four asshats be thrown out of the party.
Yep. I told my wife to get a job with the state (New Jersey) and then try to become Gov Corzine’s girlfried.
I told her I’d understand!
I think I know why Corker voted for it. It’s a quaint thing in the Senate rules that you essentially have one person vote against the fillibuster to retain tehir right to fillibuster.
One seat is empty, which leaves two. Since they had 61 I guess that the remaing two were Republicans. Maybe one is Gregg who is up to be Secretary of Commerce.
By a vote of 61-36, the Senate voted to cut off debate, setting up a likely vote on final passage Tuesday. Democrats needed a 60-vote majority.
If the bill passes Tuesday as expected, lawmakers will then have to reconcile the differences between the Senate and House versions of the package.
WHO IS GOING TO CHANGE THEIR MIND????
THAT’S A BIG 4.2 BILLION THANK YOU TO ACORN!
OUR MONEY IS GOING TO ACORN!
This vote was to end DEBATE not for the BILL. The person who put up this thread did not know what he was talking about. The vote on the bill is tomorrow morning. Then the bill goes to conference and comes back to both House and Senate for a final vote on the conference committee.
I am LIVID. I am serious about this, we need to start a petition to have them denied funding from the GOP and/or anything else we can do to them even before election time, then when that time comes we need to be in their state knocking on flipping doors one by one block by block. I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ANGRY!
It appears that the Senate has confirmed Porkulus by a vote of 61-36.
Update 06:12 pm Eastern: Fox News reporting it's a test vote. Other Freepers confirm.
EOM
Hopefully, the bill had an earmark for a Federal Prison to hold all those who supported the Bail Out and the Pork Bill.
