For a guy who is not an economist, has never held an executive position and who is only 47 years old and has lived here less than half of his life, How, pray tell, does Obama know that our current situation will devolve into a “National Catastrophe?” His presidency is and will continue to be a catastrophe, but the WHOLE country? I keep thinking how fortunate we are to have the example of the Japanese recession and their many efforts to manipulate their economy. They have failed miserably and their recession/stagnation is approaching 20 years, so surely our government wouldn’t make the same mistakes.

But then I remember that the party in power isn’t interested in a healthy economy so much as in creating more power for themselves and assuring a large constituency that is beholden to them.

Let me be clear. Obama is a fraud and a liar. Old theories (conservatism) did not bring about the current crisis. Massive spending and government expansion did.

True change would be to embrace conservative principles. Cut taxes, stop wasteful spending, and get rid of Congressional programs and projects which are not Constitutionally prescribed in Article I, Section 8. Leave them to the states.

If Congress would do their job, stop meddling in everything, and get out of our wallets, we would see a tremendous stimulus.
