Tarred and feathered is more like it. They do not know the wrath they are about to incur.

Arlen Specter is DONE.

He won his last primary by less than 1% against a real conservative of Pat Toomey. And only because the President Bush came to PA and campaigned for him.

He is DONE.

With Republicans like these, who needs Democrats?

This political treason actually gives these three senators great power in the Senate. They are the “swing” vote now. They are the ones the Democrats and the other Republicans have to deal with. That is why Republicans can never keep a united front. Those three Senators are now and will be for the foreseeable future, the center of attention in Washington. They will grow to love it and will use it to extract mega pork from their colleagues and mega perks. For the time being they will be Washington royalty.

I received another request for money today from the RNC. I wrote back and said no - you can thank Specter and Collins. Not that they’ll miss my paltry donations, but if enough people do this, maybe it will get some attention. I can’t be the only small donor who is furious with Congress.

Collins and Snowe will be fine. Specter will be ousted.

I posted this on another thread, but actually it's better
suited for this thread.

Politicians who don't have fear the lynch mob at home
will never respect the wishes of their constituencies.

Don't be afraid to threaten your representatives.

If Democrat senators did this, they would be denied funds and support by the party. That is how party discipline is enforced.

“GOP Senators Risk Political Backlash Over Support of Stimulus Bill”

The way I see it, there is no where to go but up for the Republicans. Maybe be standing their ground they will pull this party and the people back together. They let the polls rule them when Bush’s popularity started to falter, rather than stick with him and his party they panicked. Look where it got them, I hope they understand.

We have a secret weapon, the House Luney left: Nancy Pelosi, Bernie Sandors, Black Congressional Caucus, and Dennis Kusinich.

You still want the bill to fail?? Call them and ask why republican Senators (3 RINOs) are writing the bill when 'us liberal democrats' won the election and worked our hearts out for Obama last year. Demand all the pork , err critical social investments, be put back in the bill at conference. Us socialist liberals waited 8 years for this. Demand justice! Make the bill so bad that even the RINOs cant vote for it. Can you imagine if the three turned against it after conference?? Imagine the press stories

We can only hope. What turncoats! No true Republican should support this porkulus bill that is being rammed through on an “emergency” basis.

Arlin Specter almost lost in the primaries last time. He is up for re-election in ‘10. I understand he will run, but this time he doesn't have a Repub president going to bat for him.
He is not a Republican. Just switched parties when the opportunity came to run for the Senate.

Just sent this email:

Dear Senator Arlen Specter,

Please OPPOSE the “Stimulus” Bill. It is nothing but PORK! It will put us and our children in debt that we can NOT pay back.

It will do NOTHING to help the economy but, instead, give is European style socialism and grow government to unmanageable and unsustainable levels.

OPPOSE the Stimulus bill.

Sir, you barely won the last primary against Pat Toomey by 1%. Supporting this Stimulus Bill will this will push me to vote for any other candidate in the next primary.

Regards,

2banana

This b**ch is obviously not acting in good faith. If she didn’t vote for it, what is the endgame? She and Specter could go to Reid and say she won’t vote for it unless it is amended such that it is in fact the McCain proposal. At that point, what can the democrats do? They would have to take it or do nothing. Is she prepared to say that the democrats proposal is more responsible than the McCain proposal? Such a statement would be inconsistent with her comments in the Senate two nights ago.
