Michael needs to read the the second amendment, Eugene Volokh's writings on the Second Amendment and William Rehnquist's excellent opinon on same. That would make me feel better because up to now his views on the second amendment are right out of the "guns are for hunters and skeet shooters playbook".
The President of the United States spent 20 years in a hyper racist Black Theology Church, where extreme racism dictates how you perceive and worship God.
Though I absolutely despise racism, instead believing that the diversity God instilled in the peoples of this earth are to be cherished and learned from, I don't condone or condem any race specific clubs. But if the left, including the Congressional Black Caucus, NAACP, Black Panthers, Nation of Islam, Black Entertainment Channel, etc., etc., want to make an issue about it, I say Bring It!
I think comparing the level of racism and race specific clubs amongst blacks vs every other race in this nation would make for a lively debate. Otherwise I don't know anything about any of the candidates.

Steele was a great lieutenant governor of Maryland and was solely responsible for handing the state house and the gubernatorial election to the Bob Erlich (the last time the solid Democratic state had a GOP governor since Spiro Agnew).

True on both accounts. Now contrast that to the The DNC Chair Howard Dean. Howard Dean was and is a race baiter and anything but a gentlemen. And Howard Dean wiped us conservatives out.
I meant more in comparison to what they were earlier, and the change. I was also referring more to the markets and the financial performances. If you compare for example from Nov ‘07 to Nov ‘08 with Nov ‘79 to Nov ‘80 and look at the markets, unemployment, GDP, consumer confidence, and other indicators, the last year and leading up to the election,a nd especially from labor day to the elction was worse in 08 than it was in 80.

BINGO - Michael Steele has to be one of the most optimistic, cheerful, pro-American politicians on the public stage. He has so many positive, engaging qualities that are sorely needed to promote the GOP and his own conservative values. (Jim DeMint is the other one).
Steele’s *failures* (bemoaned by some FReepers) can be ascribed to the lack of GOP effort in MD & Maryland voters who are dumb in the extreme and much too close to Washington DC - the air has more Dems psi than any other area in the USA.

Thank you for this link. I found that very informative. I didn’t know the man before, but I like him. The only one I knew was Steele. Steele is on Fox News a lot and he ran for senator in Maryland. I don’t know how conservative he is. Dawson sounds like he’s be a good choice.

We had hostages in Iran and an impotent foreign policy. 1980 was my first election and things were bad. 2012 I expect similar results for Obozo as he is going to fail catastrophically.
