Conservative radio king Rush Limbaugh shot back at President Obama this afternoon - saying the new commander-in-chief is "not a unifier and not bipartisan" and is "more frightened of me" than he should be of Republican leaders.
"I think [Obama] wants me to fail," Limbaugh said on his show, rebutting Obamas' comments Friday that GOP lawmakers should not be listening to the right-wing talk show host.
Prez Zings GOP Foe in Stimulating Talk
Limbaugh Fires Back
Obama had warned Republicans on Capitol Hill Friday that they need to quit listening to Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.
"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his $825 billion stimulus package.
The conservative blowhard opened his show by saying, "I'm the man you should not be listening, according to President Obama."
Republicans have said that the price tag is too big a burden for a nation crippled by debt and that it doesn't do enough to stimulate the economy by cutting taxes.
"You know, I'm concerned about the size of the package. And I'm concerned about some of the spending that's in there," House GOP Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said after the Friday meeting. "How does that stimulate the economy?"
Limbaugh also said Obama is more than happy to "see me fail."
"He's more frightened of me than he is of John Boehner, which doesn't say much for our party," said Limbaugh.
He then said Obama's comments didn't matter, arguing that the president is "sprinting so far to the left" during his first week in office.
"The Republicans haven't been listening to me, anyway," Limbaugh said. "It's a moot point."

In case you all missed it in your eagerness to crow about how wrong I am re the so-called operation chaos, see my post #42.
My reference is to the earlier part of the primary season, before McQueeg won the nomination. Are each one of you going to sit there and tell me that most conservatives were NOT more afraid of Hillary than Obama? Are you seriously going to claim that most conservatives thought Obama would be easier to candidate beat?
Rush transitioned into what he called operation chaos after playing around with encouraging Republicans to cross over and vote for Obama in New Hampshire.
There are a number of reasons why we have the O as president now: the economy, McQueeg's horrible campaign, Bush fatigue, and so on. However, one big reason is the fact that conservative Republican voters could not rally around one viable candidate early in the primary season. Emphasis on viable. Between our already split vote among a large field of Republican candidates, stupid cross-overs to try to manipulate the Dems into nominating Obama, the equally stupid Republican open primaries in early voting states, and other factors, we wound up with the weakest possible candidate while the Dems wound up with the strongest possible one.
That, in a nutshell, is how we got where we are today.
The only false characterizations are about what I have posted. What part of "early primary season before McCain got the nomination" do you not comprehend?
Take your victimization, and falsehoods, somewhere else.
How about you taking your lack of reading comprehension somewhere else.
Show me where I was talking about operation chaos in my first post (#22) on this subject?
You get an F in tactics and strategy. Alinsky requires that you marginalize and alienate your opponent, you have only succeeded in making him more resolute.
No, the left hated Eisenhower, ridiculing him endlessly for his middlebrow tastes. Stevenson was heralded as an intellectual by the left, but the fact is that Stevenson rarely read any books, while the West Point graduate Eisenhower was well versed in both classical and modern literature.
He knew Obama was going to be “the one.” The crossover voting was just to keep HRC is longer so more dirt would come out.
Oh, well, try listening for a while.
Obviously you don't listen to rush he told everyone to vote for Hillary. He was trying to do what was right for the country knowing the Hillary would harm the country far less than the leftist Saul Alinsky Studying Obama.
It's pointless, especially with Obama and the Dems in control of everything.
Yes, he sure was. He just handed Rush the golden EIB mike for all the world to hear. This is not Chicago, obie. What you say goes to the ends of the universe. Now, every time you say something, someone is going to go to Rush and see what he has to say. Your stupid ego and your need to trash people and show them up will be your death.
Thanks for the help.
Well, since I read the post where you work while Rush is on and don’t listen I realize you don’t have a clue about what your talking about.
He can’t help it; it’s part of the compulsion that drives him.
Let’s hope we see more of his psychopathy surfacing.
Somebody's math is wrong... I thought Barack's approval rating was in the 70s...
Nice deflection attempt, but you originally posted that Rush was encouraging people to vote for Obama, then you wrapped yourself in the cloak of victimhood by declaring that since Rush airs at 9 am in Cali, you were working, so couldn't listen. The implication, of course, being that anyone that can listen to Rush at odd hours is some kind of slacker that doesn't work. Addressing the latter point -- it discounts all who a) run their own business; b) are on the road working (route men, salesmen, etc.); and c) those who have a radio at work (gasp!) -- not to mention that there were literally hundreds of post on FR about it, which you seem to have missed.
Yes, I can seriously tell you that it was the McCain contingency that was most vociferous at opposing Hillary (not enough difference between McCain and her was actually the problem -- progressives both) -- and Rush got it exactly right. Thus, "Operation Chaos." Google it.
I always thought she was easier to beat and Hannity and many others did too. zer0 bought the election, everyone knew during the primaries who he associated with, his sordid, corrupt past, ACORN, Rezko, Ayers I could go on and on. If he won the nomination, there was no stopping his corrupt machine. His crooks had 750 MILLION dollars. Go ahead, try to tell me that was his black sheep and liberal sheep in the US. Puhhhlleeeze.
Well, GW Bush did everything he could to pander & appease & capitulate to the socialist-democRATs (who hated him even more so for trying), while at the same time, he was scorning & rebuking & dissing the conservative base that put his sorry @ss into two terms in office. No wonder Bush was so despised at the end of 8 years by liberal lefties and conservatives.
P.S., if you don’t agree that the One is a unifier and bow down and say so, he will send his young volunteers after you and teach you a lesson.
It’s much like the “religion of peace.”
