President Barack Obama is going to get his blackberry.
On Monday, a government agency that the Obama administration -- but that is probably the National Security Agency -- added to a standard blackberry a super-encryption package.... and Obama WILL be able to use it ... still for routine and personal messages.
It's not clear whether he yet has the device.
With few exceptions, government Blackberries aren't designed for encryption that protects messages above the "SECRET" status, so it's not clear whether Obama is getting something new and special. The exception: the Sectera Edge from General Dynamics, which allows for TOP SECRET voice conversations.

What a putz. All things, I imagine can be hacked. But, of course, if you are his highness; you are above your peers and it doesn’t matter whether you put American lives at risk for your own personal agenda. This guy is going to get us killed.

I’m not sure if all BB models have gps transmitters, but I’m sure it could be disabled or removed from the smart phone.

I would expect that he would abide by national security provisions in place to prevent disclosure of sensitive information...but then, why would I expect HIM to recognize the importance of doing such a thing. The guy is a lightweight. But a dangerous lightweight. Let’s just hope he can keep his mouth shut and not divulge anything...oh good grief, then there’s the Bidens...

If its receiving, it can be tracked, triangulated exactly.
There is no other way, unless they use a repeater...and even that has its flaws.
Anything that makes ‘electronic noise’ can be found using triangulation.
