As a writer and consumer of entertainment, I really hate clichés and stereotypes. They’re only useful for misdirection, making readers believe the story is going a certain way so you can fool them. But Hollywood keeps trotting out the following lame tropes over and over again. It’s about time they were called on the carpet for this stupidity. These stereotypes are not only offensive; they’re overused to the point where they must be retired for good. If you really care about not offending people, Hollywood, stop offending me and the legions of people who are sick of this drivel.

Isn't that the truth. What a load! Whitey is always greedy, mean, evil, dumb, stupid, a moron, ignorant, unintelligent, mean to puppies, etc. The magical black guy ALWAYS comes along to show them the error of their ways. What a load! Hollywood really needs to get in touch with reality.

Even when the topic is terrorism, it’s usually some chubby schlub businessman. Of course, nobody today knows who the Nazi’s were in historical context, so yesterday’s uber-villain is really the same thing.
Let’s demand the Fairness Doctrine in Hollowood’s products. Every film must portray criminals by race, gender and national origin to reflect FBI crime stats.

wealth * happiness = constant
Your happiness is inversely proportional to your wealth.
per capita wealth = constant
If you are rich it was at the expense of someone else. If you are poor it was due to the immoral act of someone else.

Can’t disagree with a single point on this refreshing list, especially Hollywood’s stilted portrayal of Christianity.
Also the hero who uses guns but hates them. He also is an expert marksman despite hating guns so much he would never practice with them.
Just loved the scene in Star Wars, whatever number, in which the Jedi saves his life with a phaser pistol then disgustingly throws it away, commenting on how uncivilized they are. Sure, slicing a person in two pieces or severing their limbs with a light saber is so much more civilized.

Of course, none of these rules seem to apply to filthy rich celebrities...because making a king’s fortune pretending to be someone else is somehow nobler than running businesses that provide useful, helpful goods and services without which Hollywood smugheads wouldn’t last a day.
In the movies, the bad guys always use Windows and the good guys always use Macs. True story:
I started watching the Johnny Depp movie “Secret Window” with my wife. During the opening credits, I told my wife that whoever gets killed in this movie gets killed by him, and that I would tell her after the movie was over how I knew.
So, the movie ends and she’s pissed at me because apparently I ruined it for her or something. She asked me how I knew. I told her that during the opening credits the Depp character was working in MS Word. Good guys never do that in the movies.
