So how do you feel on Inauguration Day? The nation is awash with mixed feelings about this super-combo of politics, culture, out-of-control media. Link tells you why...

The idiots here at work thought we were all going to take a break and watch it in the break room or something. Bunch of morons.
It’s obviously not a popular sentiment around these parts, but I, too, hope that our nation prospers, even during Obama’s presidency.
I`m so excited I`m about to pee my pants..
“Mixed feelings”? How can that possibly be. We’ve been told endlessly the last few days that we are at long last “one” again.
Barf.
Why do you wish him well? His stated goals are to redistribute income, to sign FOCA, to queer up our military, and to close Gitmo among other things that will be detrimental to our country. How could you wish him well? I hope he fails utterly and completely.
It is hard to be particularly upset. The decline has been steady. Even front to back, it is a Wilsonian Fabian to another Wilsonian Fabian. A few months ago I thought the drop would have been more severe, but I am now willing to accept the possibility that Obama represents a mere step down from his predecessor. The real ‘change’ will be in rhetoric.
It’s like the whole country is filled with teenagers.
A meaningless phrase brayed by the MSM, being echoed on FR? What a pantload!
Don't ever make that mistake! Freepers all wish this country well...no matter who is President. That is quite different and apart from wishing an avowed marxist, bigot and terror supporter success. Obama is NOT America.

Thanks. Saved me some typing...
“It definitely does not have to do with color. Id be doing a happy dance if it was Michael Steele.”
God help us.
I wish the nation well. As far as Obama goes, I wish him "success" as I define it, not in terms of his campaign rhetoric. For example, I hope he succeeds by not instituting measures which stall the natural recovery of the economy. I hope he succeeds by not miring America in more nation-building experiments (while at least maintaining present levels of defense infrastructure and research). I hope he succeeds in tackling the runaway train of entitlement spending. "We" would not gain by Obama's failure on these points.
Before wishing someone success, it is best to confirm which of their endeavors you are blessing (axe murdering? obtaining heroin?)
” How could you wish him well? I hope he fails utterly and completely.”
I think you’re reading in a different message than I was meaning. For the sake of the nation, I do wish him well. That he makes solid decisions, that he has clarity of thought, that he puts the nation first over other interests.
I am a realist. Conservatives put high hopes on GWB and liberals ranted doom and gloom, and look what a disappointment he turned out to be. Both sides turned out to be wrong. Now conservatives are putting doom and gloom on BHO and liberals have high hopes. See the pattern?
I am a patriot. I am not loyal to a party, an ideology, a person. I am loyal to the Nation, and for the sake of the Nation, I wish Obama well. Solid decisions, clarity of thought, and put the Nation first.
I agree with you entirely.
The Barack Era: bailouts, boondoggles, big Government, bad economy. Enjoy!
“For the sake of the Nation, I wish Obama ends up goofing around for 2 years and working with a Republican Congress in 2011, because that is the only hope we have to turn this country around before its too late.”
“I hope he succeeds in tackling the runaway train of entitlement spending. “We” would not gain by Obama’s failure on these points.”
But Obama’s plan is to raise taxes and socialize medicine. It wont tackle spending but expand it permanently. We will not gain by Obama’s success there. In fact, America would be better off if the Congress just quit right now for 2 years rather than spend 2 years of adding to liberal spending.
I hope America succeeds and endures despite the Obama errors.
