QUOTE OF THE DAY
Taken from the first Inaugural Address 20th January 2001 how poignant this words turned out to be and may we be for ever grateful to him that he was true to his word. "We will confront weapons of mass destruction, so that a new century is spared new horrors. "

President George W. Bush calls current and former world leaders from the Oval Office during his final full day in office at the White House in Washington January 19, 2009
I cannot believe I am going to wake up tomorrow and they will not be at the helm of our government. I will miss these true patriots .
May God Bless you and your Dad.
Prayers for President and Mrs. Bush....we will miss them....and Prayers for America. I may not have always agreed with President Bush, but I sure do appreciate him. Being President and doing unpopular things (as a moral man like President Bush is would) had to be especially hard.
Hi Snugs and everyone,
I want to add my very sincere thanks to all the hosts over the years. Tho’ I haven’t often joined the conversations I have treasured the opportunity to catch up with the daily news and photos of President Bush and his family. I have a huge collection of great photos!! :) :)
One of my favourites (not a spelling mistake there we do spell it with a ‘u’) was taken on a tarmac early in the Presidency. The President and First Lady are walking to AF1 and talking and smiling at each other, both holding dog leads. I don’t know how to post photos, but it is a beauty!!
Thanks to all for this wonderful dose.
thank you from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful work you have done all these years in presenting us the images of our dear President, his cabinet and family, images we would never have seen if we had to rely on the regular media.
Today, as I was painting walls, my mind was on this last day of a President who has had to endure such hatred and venom as I have never witnessed in my life.
President Bush has shown me grace under fire, a man who understands the strength that comes from relying on a Greater Power, and even when I have disagreed with some of his policies, I have never doubted his principles and his love for this great Country.
Our hearts are heavy but our respect and prayers will accompany President and Mrs Bush as they continue their journey. Blessings to all, etabeta
I’ve got tears in my eyes and a huge lump in my throat. I’m going to miss our President Bush and his lovely Laura. May God continue to bless these two wonderful Americans. May God continue to bless the United States of America and give our new president good judgement and common sense. Our country will continue to be in God’s hands, I know this without a doubt.
Thanks you, Snugs, for the ping.
Do you have any information on what Vice-President Cheney and Mrs. Cheney did today? Will they fly back to Wyoming tomorrow on AF-2?
God Bless you W!
Thank you snugs!
I have enjoyed these threads.
I will miss him.
I am sooooooooooo going to miss this great man
Thank Snugs for putting up this thread !
Thank you snugs, and all the others for bringing us the Bush Administration and a comfy place to gather for the past eight years. Thanks to rintense for getting this started and doing a yeoman’s job for many years.
I hope Day in the Life will remain available as an archive on FR for a very long time.
Even though President Bush and Laura will regain their prized private life tomorrow (sniff!), we will need, more than ever, a Sanity Island.
If Texas secedes from the Union, you just might be President again?
Goodbye, President Bush. Thank you for all you did for us. I will miss you.
I will miss America too.
Enjoy your retirement Mr President - you deserve it! Thanks to all those stalwarts on the Daily Dose who have kept the faith - love you guys, you are the BEST!!
Snugs, I cannot thank you enough for all your postings, today in particular. I’m cherishing all the photos and will visit this particular area often. What an extraordinary couple the Bushes are. May God Bless Them Always.
