Today is the last full day that George W Bush spent in the White House as President he telephoned current and former world leaders from Oval Office.

Also in his last full day as President he commuted the sentences of two former US border guards facing more than 10 years in prison for shooting a Mexican drug smuggler.

Secretary of Defense Roberts Gates will will sit out Barack Obama's inauguration at an undisclosed location as the "designated successor" in the event of a catastrophe, the White House announced Monday.

Our new baby arrived about 3:20 this afternoon. Mary Allison weighed 7 lbs 7 oz, 18 1/2” long and is a doll. I wonderful bd present for my bd tomorrow. Mother, baby and daddy doing great. Another doll for great grandmother to spoil.
