I originally took the mindset that I would wish Obama the best during his presidency for the good of the country, but I kept having nagging thoughts that were bothering me. Rush Limbaugh said something the other day that made me realize the problem I was having:
I Hope Obama Fails
RUSH: I got a request here from a major American print publication. "Dear Rush: For the Obama [Immaculate] Inauguration we are asking a handful of very prominent politicians, statesmen, scholars, businessmen, commentators, and economists to write 400 words on their hope for the Obama presidency. We would love to include you. If you could send us 400 words on your hope for the Obama presidency, we need it by Monday night, that would be ideal." Now, we're caught in this trap again. The premise is, what is your "hope." My hope, and please understand me when I say this. I disagree fervently with the people on our side of the aisle who have caved and who say, "Well, I hope he succeeds. We've got to give him a chance." Why? They didn't give Bush a chance in 2000. Before he was inaugurated the search-and-destroy mission had begun. I'm not talking about search-and-destroy, but I've been listening to Barack Obama for a year-and-a-half. I know what his politics are. I know what his plans are, as he has stated them. I don't want them to succeed...
Look, what he's talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care... So I'm thinking of replying to the guy, "Okay, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails...."

To anyone interested, take the opportunity tomorrow (or whenever you’re available) to stop at your bank. Take a look at their CD interest rates, and look for any specials (it’s not all that uncommon). Buy a short-term (3-9 months) CD, and smile in the knowledge that it’s now money that the Obama economy will never see.
He needs to fail hard. Socialism needs to fail hard.
I want the idiots who voted for him, both popular and electoral, to fail. Prediction below.
Someone today said that Obama is very lucky, and it made me think of the parallels to my protagonist.
As a Conservative, I want him to fail.
As an American, I want him to fail.
As a Christian, I want God’s will for this country.
It’s hard to believe that Obama is God’s will as our President. I’m reminded of OT scripture, where the Israelites rebelled against God. God would remove his hand from them and all sorts of calamity came upon them. Later on they would realize the error of their ways and repent. God would restore them and peace and order would follow... at least until they repeated this whole process all over again?!!
There are a lot of parallels between Israel and the US. Both nations are Judeo-Christian. Both have seen their share of favor and deliverance. There was a time not long ago that we in the US understood the importance of Israel... Not the case at the moment. Israel is unpopular as Christianity and Conservatism are also unpopular.
If we use the Bible as a template as to what will come during the Obama administration. Without God, he will fail. Like the unsinkable Titanic, Obama’s Nation will go down. He has no basis in truth. Obama, himself, stands for nothing. He will unfortunately take us down with him.
God willing, America will find her way through this dark night. SOOOO, we as believers in truth and God, must shine more brightly than ever... It is up to us to light the way for future generations.
Now they are asking us to get behind the President.....what a laugh. There was not a moment’s peace given to Bush for eight miserable years of listening to bullshit, innuendo and lies. This country is in the position it is right now because of this debacle and goes directly to the feet of the msm and democrats but mostly to the Republicans who had the voice and were too cowardly to use it. Some day very soon we are going to have to start speaking for ourselves.
“The only way Obama wont fail is if he turns to the middle, takes pages from the conservative handbook, keeps the looney left happy and doesnt make us gnash teeth with his programs,,,that is a very tall order.”
He can’t turn towards the middle - the leftist media is holding his leash. All they have to do is threaten to peek into his Chicago past, and he’ll dance to their tune.
It’s going to be fun to watch.
I want my nation to succeed.
I vote thumbs down on the Obama. My hope is that he, his followers and his lapdogs in government fail miserably. Then us real Americans can pick up the pieces and fix things as usual. Socialism never works in real life. To bad they don’t teach that in the Ivy league halls of educational centers.
I don’t think you were understanding what I was saying. I don’t want him to implement a bunch of social programs, or to increase spending and raise taxes.
I do want our nation to stay safe, and I do want the economy to turn around. If we have another terrorist attack, or people continue to lose jobs and their retirement and their medical insurance that will cause extensive suffering. I could not in good conscience wish suffering on people, just to prove a political point.
I hear ya’...and agree!
Epic fail. Jimmy Carter fail. Nixon 2nd term fail. Titanic first voyage fail.
But I’ll pray for his health and that God would give him wisdom.
I can wish can’t I—who knows maybe he will turn out to be less of a socialist. Maybe he will wise up as he takes over the White House. Let us pray for a conversion!
I told him (my minister) that since his agenda was evil, I hope he will fail.
Last Sunday's sermon was on racism.
We definitely have much work to do.
Judging by his agenda for the first two days, I don't think there's much chance of that happening.
