President-elect Barack Obama says there can't be any "idle hands" at a time when so many people are enduring hardships.

During a visit to an emergency homeless shelter for teens in the nation's capital, Obama said that given the "crisis" the nation is facing, "everybody's going to have to pitch in." And he said Americans are "ready to do that."

Most of us in fly-over country are already volunteering in the schools and-or church and-or community things like 4-H. We also give more to charity. (Can I get an “Amen”?)

I am praying that God will visit a plague of Biblical proportions including hail, pestilence, wind, fire, lightning, and hail mixed with fire will be visited daily upon Oboomba the Usurper and all those who rejoice in his abominations tomorrow, Jan 20, in Washington DC right in the middle of his corrupt coup d’tat of the formerly great USA. May Oboomba be punished mightily for his evil deeds & deceptions.

Unfortunately I don't think this will happen, however I never thought that Bush would pardon or at commute the jail terms for Ramos & Compean either. And at least he commuted the sentences. So maybe there is a glimmer of hope that God will answer the prayers of many, and not allow this arrogant prideful egomaniac Oboomba to gloat & preen in all his demonic pride & glory.

These six things doth the Lord hate, yea, seven are an abomination to him. Have you or anyone seen the commercials on TV about some movement to engage youth volunteers? I found it on YouTube, but have seen it on TV twice now. I don’t know how new this is, but I was very concerned. City Year Commercial

I have just caught it twice and am wondering if this is just another of the "Obama Youth Camps" type activities to indoctrinate young blacks. Under the guise of asking them to dedicate one year to serve their cities voluntarily, (and making it appear this is for building self-esteem and some sort of positive commitment to their communities) it actually seems like a sort of empowerment mission to instill fear and give them control. Throughout the commercial are words like "I have changed,” etc., and it ends with one fellow saying, "I am FIERCE!"

That word blew my mind. Fierce?

Are today's youth, in Obama's world supposed to aspire to being FIERCE? Is that a trait worthy of trying to gain? Truly, I feel it is a frightening ad, and a frightening concept. Just like we saw during the campaign with the Gestapo-like youths marching in the video, this ad seems to want youth to become focused on being powerful – not on being humanitarians or doing good for others out of a sense of decency, concern, or love for one another. It seems like a covert approach via the "organization" – City Year – to instill greater hostility and anger in black youths by encouraging them to want to be "FIERCE!"

With that choice of words as their goal for these youths - what horrors can we expect from those drawn into joining such movements as they are trained to become -- “Fierce?”

I have lived in my present home for the past 43 years. During that time I have help dozens and dozens of those in my neighbor. Mowed and trimmed their lawns, chipped up limbs after a storm, helped planted their gardens and flowers, donated money in time of need, babysitted their children, etc.

That's all in the past now. Anyone who can't pass the registration test need not apply. I will never offer my assistance to another Democrat.
