Commuted with a statement that he thought sentence was excessive. Yet they have to stay in prison till March 09.

I have observed over the years that this is how it usually goes, even when a person has been definitively determined to be not guilty. It always takes several weeks to actually get them out. I have no idea what the reason for that is, but it is business as usual with these kinds of things.
