HANNITY: Do you think she could be president one day?
MCCAIN: Sure, sure. But I'd also like to point out that it's very early in this whole season.
HANNITY: Are you thinking of running again?
MCCAIN: I was -- no, no, no, but I -- you know, my political corpse is still warm, as you know, but I -- you know, there's going to be, I think, a spirited contest for the nomination of our party, and I think there are also other governors that will be competitive.
People like Bobby Jindal and John Huntsman and Tim Pawlenty and Mark Sanford, and -- you know, there's -- governors now, I think, are going to be -- play -- an enhanced role in the direction of the Republican Party. One reason is because their talent, and another reason is because they govern.

Very well said, bears repeating.
> And with Obama & the Dems running things what’s your plan with regard to illegals?
If we had anything approaching a real opposition party in the GOP, and not a capitulating mass with McCain leading the charge across the aisle to roll over and lick Dim boots, the plan would be first to block and filibuster any amnesty. Then, I would lure Dims with union connections by casting the illegals issue as a cheap labor trick to lower wages, and get them and right-thinking conservatives in a coalition to pass legislation to accurately find and brutally, financially punish companies who hire illegal labor. I’d like more, of course, to send illegals back home, starting with foreign felons in our prisons, and fund the fence, but the RINOs and Bush blew their historic chance in the SIX YEARS they held power.
But, the unfortunate reality is that the majority of the GOP, especially McCain, care more about power and will toady to Dims rather than come up with fresh ideas like mine. The country-club RINOs love the illegals streaming in and sucking the public coffers dry, because they are cheap labor for companies who never pay the social cost (schools, welfare, medicare) for their cheap employees. WE pay. But WE don’t matter to them. Do you get it?
But would the world have ever heard about Sarah without Mccain choosing her? I think not. You can blame McCain for many things but not for the choice of Sarah to be his running mate.
We had a conservative named Craig Williams running for Congress against Joe Sestak. Williams plan was to allow illegals who met certain criteria such as not having a record of arrest and good job history to plea bargain down to a misdemeanor allowing them to stay here and even get eventually get citizenship if they wanted. Would you have a problem with that?
He is such an a-hole, I listened to the interview last night... I will not vote for him in 2010, even if it means voting in a democrat to replace him...

No one ever runs against him in the primary — ever.. McCain controls the AZ Chamber of Commerce and they twist arms in the AZ Republican Committee and McCain runs unopposed. Our only possible hope would be if JD decided to run against him. I will vote for JD, I will never, ever vote for McCain again...
McCain is leading the charge to give them amnesty, like I said he and the AZ Chamber of Commerce of hand-in-glove, McCain’s own son worked there until recently.
McCain is a hero - it’s the in-fighting in our party that is going to keep us mired in the muck. If I had to go far right I’d go Huckabee or Jindal or Sanford. However I think Romney is a happy medium
Don't forget how the RNC allowed the primary to be run through liberal and open primary states to nullify the conservative vote.
I left the Republican party for this very reason.
I don’t expect he’ll be running again, or endorsing Palin the primaries.
You know what else is insane? FR will have the same usual suspects, along with a fresh batch of McCain trolls, championing McCain if and when he runs again. LOL!
McCain’s day has come and gone. Conservatives are wise to Obama and the MSM. If you are going to go down in 2012 go down with a Reagan conservative rather than a RINO.
I cannot stand McCain, Romney or Huckabee. McCain was a hero in what he withstood in Vietnam, that does not mean he gets to stay in the senate and vote opposite the desire of his constituents here in Arizona... it’s bad enough what the senators from Utah and Wyoming and the GOP senator from Alaska are doing... but that is the citizens of those states problems, I will actively campaign to defeat McCain in 2010.
No one should count Sarah out. Just look at the ‘Rats still going bonkers about Sarah. That’s where we should look for our next candidate. They are still shaking and know they would have lost to her had they not used ACORN to register people multiple times, make up people, and raise the dead for votes.
That said, Sarah knows what is going on. She isn’t a dummy. She knows how McCain has backstabbed her and she’s perfectly fine with letting him expose himself. She feels Americans will see through his nastiness.
Again, she’s all for transparency.
Rabs—I’ve been traveling—so I just saw this.
Thanks for making me a charter member of this pinglist.
McCain must be retired in 2010. With each passing day and each passing comment he makes, it becomes clear that he threw this election.
The American people must never, EVER be put on the same position again—with two choices who are both George Soros’ sock puppets.
It is also becoming increasingly clear that George Soros wasn’t the only winner. Hillary (and Bill) Clinton won as well.
