Amen! Amen! Amen! Big Government? Get OUT of my way and do YOUR job, so I can do mine. (You know, that ‘Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness’ stuff you’re always denying me?)
Thanks, JAZ. Thanks, Dr. Sowell. :)

Pity Mr. Sowell couldn’t have been “the one.”
To: jazusamo
Really! That’s what frustrates me to no end.
Lead. Follow. Or get OUT of my way, LOL!

There’s so many of us that feel the same, they are direct opposites.

One of the only functions of gubmint IS to protect its citizens. Hardly an achievement.
I guess you Wisconsins know all about Big Gubmint. Am I wrong?
To: jazusamo
We can only hope that it will not take the sight of an American city lying in radioactive ruins to wake people up to the dangers that George W. Bush protected us against, despite an unending chorus of carping. That reads like a Joel Rosenberg novel. His books are awesome.
No one in his right mind would say that the Bush administration was flawless. But many of their worst political mistakes were the kinds of mistakes that decent people often make when dealing with indecent people, both domestically and internationally.
Amen.

President Bush's number one achievement was also the number one function of government to protect its citizens. Nobody on September 11, 2001 believed that there would never be another such attack for more than seven years. We may never know what was the threat but this is true.
About promoting home ownership. Bush was in the chorus but did sound a warning. Can't do both.

A mixed bag? Aren't we all? But an honorable man.Yes. I'll miss him.

Sowell writes so-well. One of my favorites. But I believe it should be Geneva Conventions, not Convention.

Yes. I'll miss him.As will many of us, especially with the way the honorability of his replacement looks.

"That a President of the United States protected us from deadly enemies may not seem like much of an accomplishment to some. But it may be more fully appreciated when we get a President who eases up on that protection, in order to curry favor at home and abroad."Oh, my, has Dr. Sowell ever nailed it with that comment!

But the Supreme Court was also guilty of a dereliction of its duty and let the McCain-Feingold bill stand.Ultimately, I think this was what lead to McCain getting the GOP nomination and to Hussein winning the Presidency. Had it not been for Sarah Palin, I have serious doubts as to whether I would have voted for him.

I hear you. Without Sarah Palin the election would surely have been a blowout.
