Four years ago, the Associated Press and others in the press suggested it was in poor taste for Republicans to spend $40 million on President Bushs inauguration. AP writer Will Lester calculated the impact that kind of money would have on armoring Humvees in Iraq, helping victims of the tsunami, or paying down the deficit. Lester thought the party should be cancelled: The questions have come from Bush supporters and opponents: Do we need to spend this money on what seems so extravagant?
Fast forward to 2009. The nation is at war (two wars, in fact), and now also faces the prospect of a severe recession and federal budget deficits topping $1 trillion as far as the eye can see. With Barack Obamas inauguration estimated to cost $45 million (not counting the millions more that government will have to pay for security), is the Associated Press once again tsk-tsking the high collar cost?
Nope. For inaugural balls, go for glitz, forget economy, a Tuesday AP headline advised.

Because the Democrats live under the assumption that the USofA is a Democracy and it is not.
The USofA is a Republic with good reason. Watch the video referenced above.
We all know the media can not wait to tell the public anything elected Pubbies say..
Who else besides the media is a source of information for the public?
Only an idiot would believe the media would cover anyone who was critical of Obama on anything.
YOU MUST BELIEVE THE MEDIA IS FAIR AND BALANCED!!!!
Well, no. Kinda.
The Founders didn’t “put” the amendments in the order they are; the states did. Amendment #2 (RKBA) was merely adopted after the states adopted #1.
Nonetheless, it still shows the high importance they placed on #2. ;)
Sauron
Chump CHANGE!
Progressive hipocrisy at it’s best.
Please...........
I've said for years now....that the MSM / DBM is the most dangerous entity in the U.S.
I've been here...a few weeks...cut me some slack. : )
I am SHOCKED... SHOCKED I tell you at this blatant double standard....
BTW, if you point this out to a liberal, they’d say “well, that was for Bush and this is for Obama. Can’t you see the difference?”
