Government decrees that all broadcasts have to go digital then they may ban HDTVs. (Yeah, I know the Plasma ban is proposed in Europe but we are turning into the EU right before our eyes)

The LCD screens also use alot more electricity than the old vacuum tube screens, although not as much as the plasmas. Those bans will end up being applied to LCD tech too.
Hey, Why NOT? The Guv'mint has killed the auto industry with their insane regulations, now they are going to kill the electronics industry the same way.
