I pray for all California FReepers but I have to be selfish and say this site is amazing in how news flies so fast. I was browsing posts, saw the initial thread post on the quake almost immediately after the USGS said it happened and was able to follow almost second by second, California city by city as you reported in. This is better than telephone! Simply incredible.

Well she was talking on the phone to my sister at the time, once she starts talking on that phone it would take an 8.0 to get her attention. I wouldn’t have noticed it either if my desk did not shake. It was over in about 2 seconds, perhaps since I am pretty far away from San Bernardino, but I remember Northridge, and boy that one was a doozy
