What it reveals is unlikely to be told by the mainstream media or by other enthusiasts for the magic phrase "universal health care."

He can say that again. Thomas Sowell for President, Supreme Court, or just about anything!

Why oh why God, why couldn't Dr. Sowell have been our first Afro-American president?

Instead we got an unqualified slimy Chicago political hack who gives a bad name to the entire human race, not just the African race, and may not even be constitutionally eligible for the office.

Yet few Americans show any interest in what actually happens to medical care in those countries.

A great website, The Real Cuba shows what exactly happens to medical care in the phalanx that is "universal health care".

I’ve read nothing but horror stories about medical care in Cuba. Thanks for the link!

Ive got about 10 year left of practicing Medicine. I could work longer but hope I will not have too. I am going to cry for this country when we get socialized Health Care. I am glad my whole life did not have to be lived in chains. The scary thing is the years when I will need excellent health care the most it will not be available. This makes me angry.

As with all things FDR, LBJ, and now BHO have foisted upon us. Isolate it, and render it obsolete.

In health care this could mean offshoring to nearby country with less legislation and litigation.

Sometimes things that seem like spelling errors are just typing errors. I do not always use spell check when I am rushed. So do not worry. But even so a poor speller could be a great physician. Spelling is not everything and some people are just bad at it just like some can not do math well. Different strokes for different folks. Now grammer is not my thing. Had poor teachers all they way through. Plus they changed to New English and this and that every 2 years.

Dr Sowell has pointed out that the incidents of cancer in our body politic are increasing and need to be addressed.

My address? Send the dumbocrats to Pt Barrow where they can take care of the Polar Bears!

“It is one of the painful signs of our times that millions of people are so easily swayed by rhetoric that they show virtually no interest at all in finding out the hard facts.”

Again Thomas Sowell identifies one of the most serious cracks in our Republic.

God forbid that the United States ever adopt anything like the nightmare “health” systems of England and Canada! Health will be the first thing to go.

Yes. But I would identify the root of the problem in the monopoly which promotes the idea of the easy, cheap solution - the form of "press" created by the monopoly Associated Press in the mid-Nineteenth Century.

Big Journalism flatters its audience just as "Self esteem" education flatters students. Rather than challenging people to think, flattery denigrates the idea that thinking is necessary. "You are so great that your emotional reactions are superior to other people's best rational analysis." Doesn't that make you feel good? You don't have to think about anything at all! Nobody can be smarter than you!
