A conservative military watchdog is very concerned about a recent survey of military personnel that indicates a significant number of service members might leave the all-volunteer force if the ban on open homosexuals in the military is lifted.
The annual survey was conducted by the Military Times, which once again asked active duty personnel if they oppose the effort led by Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher (D-California) to repeal the 1993 law -- Section 654, Title 10 -- which clearly states that open homosexuals are not allowed in the military.
Approximately 58 percent of the respondents indicated that they were in favor of continuing the ban. But Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness, is more astonished at the response to a question that had never been asked on that survey before.
"In essence, what would you do if the law is repealed?" she relates that question. "The Military Times found that 10 percent of respondents said they would leave the military, and an additional 14 percent said they would consider ending their careers," she points out. "Now, even if half of those numbers turned out to be an accurate prediction, that would be devastating to our volunteer force. It would pretty much destroy the military as we know it."
She believes those who might consider leaving have legitimate concerns if the law is repealed. "The new policy would be forced co-habitation with homosexuals 24-7 in all military communities," Donnelly adds. "Corollary programs to make the program work would include professional diversity training to enforce acceptance and zero tolerance of anyone who disagrees."
Donnelly expects Tauscher to reintroduce the repeal legislation within the next several weeks.
The Army has discharged a decorated lieutenant colonel just one week shy of the 20-year career mark that would have entitled him to full retirement benefits after his home was burned down and a firefighter found a videotape of the colonel engaging in sex acts with other men....By all accounts, Colonel Loomis kept his homosexuality a private matter. His sexuality became an issue to the Army only after his home, near his station at Fort Hood, Tex., was burned down last year. The arsonist was a 19-year-old Army private who had posed for nude photographs for Colonel Loomis. The private said he had burned down the house to destroy the pictures.
You forgot one of the groups: the fur traders.
Hello, REVOLUTION!!!!!
That’s my only concern — I can’t see any other reason. In college, I had a lesbian across the hall who apparently was attracted to me. I guess it’s just the way I was raised (my father could freeze water in July with his looks and words across miles of telephone wires at that), but I handled it so it was NEVER a problem again.
If you’re gay — whatever, but don’t expect me to go along with it. Most of the guys I know would make short work of a pass made at them, and who gives a rat’s a$$ what gays do with each other or think about — not me. I wouldn’t want to be in the same room with a heterosexual couple going at it either — for me, sex is not a spectator sport.
Never served huh?
Or never lived in a barracks or field situation.
Rollo Tomasi, with help from a self-described “honorary gay man” named Barry Goldwater who feels sorry that his gay grandson can't openly join the military and take showers with a bunch of “beefcakes”.
But yes, homosexuals have the uncanny ability to turn off their "human nature" off when comforting “straights” in private “situations”. If they can do this why do they embrace the same sex?
That’s exactly what the Marxist DemocRats want. Another gutted and ineffectual military. Here we go again...probably for the last (and final) time.
Would it be the same if you were forced to live in the same dorm room with a couple of straight guys? Kicking their asses for making a pass at you will get you thrown in the brig, at least if you are a guy. Don’t associate with them and they will go to the JAG claiming you are creating a hostile environment by excluding them.
Yeah, a snag in their nylons could frag a deployment while they located some nail polish. ;-)
The problem is officers who force junior officers or enlisted to play along. That would be a tough call for me — AWOL or 50 cent solution.
A gay military might not have a problem rounding up Christians.... but I’d really like to see them try rounding up our guns & ammo [smile]. And of course, the Christians that are armed (me included) might have something to say about it.
Earth to anti-Christian gays: Open wide, say ‘Ah’, and don’t bend over.
The only advice I could offer is one delivered to me once by a rather unsavory fellow — “Accidents can happen.” I took that under advisement and proceeded accordingly.
You’re kidding. Right?
Most polls show over 70% of Americans support allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly in the military.
Should it be put to a vote?
BTW: Elections have consequences.
I think the results of most polls also indicate that most people are brain-dead.
What polls. I’ve never seen a single poll that says that. Please post, it might be an interesting read.
As much as leftists approve of debauchery in general,
I’m sure most of them don’t actually approve of unwanted (hetero)sexual advances. At least, that’s what they’ve been telling us in conducting their war on the white heterosexual conservative male.
And thats exactly what the End America crowd runnin from Washington wants.””
Another ploy by the left to bring down the US military. Hussein knows this will be the outcome and by intention he will allow homos to have full access to any man that yet remains in the military. The disease continues unabated to ravage the country and all decent aspects of society.
But we’d need 4 times as many lesbians to fill out the 103’rd PMS Brigade, the “Fightin’ Tampax’s”. . .
Be that as it may, if the electorate, thru their reps want it, then....
