A night of silence… almost

Starting late yesterday afternoon, it began raining in southern Israel — which, coupled with the bitter cold, may account for a night of relative quiet from our local terrorists.  Maybe they couldn’t keep their powder dry, or maybe they couldn’t get the matches lit. In any event, it was a much needed night of blessed silence.

Interesting, that two of the places rockets hit in Beersheba yesterday were schools, one a high school near the city center, the other an elementary school in one of the suburbs. What’s weird is how often these terrorist rockets hit places where children tend to congregate. It isn’t because the missiles are so well aimed that they can choose a specific target – they just aim in a general direction, and so often they hit schools or playgrounds.

What’s equally weird is how often there don’t happen to be any children in the school, or on the playground, at that exact moment. [God has His Hand in this I am sure-Syncro]

Something else interesting popped into the news. We know now that the Grad model Katyushka rockets that were fired into Beersheba were manufactured in China, and smuggled into Aza through Egypt. Filled with metal balls that can scatter up to 350 feet from where the rocket hits, they’re more deadly that earlier models. These same rockets were also fired into Ashkelon and Ashdod, sometimes packed with ammonia, too, to increase their durability and lethality.

Oh-oh. Here we go again.  The lull is over. The warning sirens are wailing away.  A missile hit somewhere.

The first terrorist attack that I can recall happened way back before the '67 war and it was a grenade attack on a nursery at a Kibbutz while most of the people were working in the fields.

I remember some time ago terrorists attacked a school in Israel with some deaths.

Almost at once, all teachers in Israel were armed and the cowards quit (well at least slowed down considerably) attacking the children at schools.
