GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip Israel dropped a one-ton bomb on the home of a Hamas strongman Thursday, killing him along with two wives and four children in the first attack on the top leadership of Gaza's rulers. As the aerial bombardment escalated, the army said it was also poised to launch a ground invasion. Israel also appeared to be sounding out a possible diplomatic exit from the 6-day-old military offensive against Hamas by demanding international monitors as a key term of any future truce.
The bombing targeted 49-year-old Nizar Rayan, ranked among Hamas' top five decision-makers in Gaza. His four-story apartment building crashed to the ground, sending a thick plume of smoke into the air and heavily damaging neighboring buildings. It killed Rayan and 11 others, including two of his four wives and four of his 12 children, Palestinian health officials said. The Muslim faith allows men to have up to four wives.
Israel has made clear that no one in Hamas is immune in this offensive, and the strike that flattened Rayan's apartment building in the northern town of Jebaliya drove that message home.

Ring the bell!
I am tellin ya, Iran has got to be next on the short list, Israel is running out of time. The regime in Iran has got to go or we will be rinsing and repeating this for the next 100 years. A peaceful Iran, one NOT meddling with its neighbors, will create a LASTING peace. As long as Iran maintains this literal and philosophical course, there will be constant war in Israel.
He must have been an amazing military tactician and an astute student pf mideast politics. Being home when the Israelis start bombing. They would NEVER think to look there for him with a 1000 pounder! Bwaaahahaahaha
SURELY this isn’t all planned this way JUST to be so damned entertaining for me?
I am sure the leftist media and the terrorists will spin this as just another civilian who was murdered by the zionist regime. The evidence? He’s wearing civilian clothing and there are dead kids around him.
Nice way to start the year.
I hope Israel understands what the USA has forgotten about war. You fight it to win it, and do not stop unless you get an Unconditional Surrender.
With Lib-tards at the forefront, we stop hostilities at each and every chance our enemy presents; then we negotiate a surrender on terms that are forgotten as soon as we turn our backs. The end result is that tyranny will persist, and more people will end up dying with a negotiated treaty, than what would have occurred if the war were continued to the unconditional surrender stage.
Hit them hard, and keep hitting until they beg, plead and are thoroughly humiliated into admitting their errors, and sign off on the unconditional surrender. Nothing else will work.
Pity the mohammedans can only offer hudna, a ten year rearmament truce...
Thanks for the good news, passing it on!!
Yup, such a pity. But, the terms of the surrender are dictated by the victor, not the vanquished. If the victor is stupid enough to accept a hudna; then he has not truly won the war.
The moment Iran is on our side again, Russia’s and China’s global ambitions will be crushed. Of course forget about it as long as liberals have America in their stranglehold.
Not always. The terms of surrender for Carthage weren’t dictated by the victors so much as by the survivors...
Anyone else want to be number one?
Step right up to the plate there Hamas scum. So who’s your next leader? Our next target?
Sooner or later Israel will have to take care of Hezbollah.
Priceless.
On to their 72 virgins, question is are these virgins women. or the prefered choice, young boys?
Please. Hamas has reminded us time after time that women and children are proud to die for martyrdom. That’s how they justify using them as shields.
Congratulations Israel.
Job well done.
Interesting family values.
