The breakup of the U.S. (WorldnetDaily's Joseph Farah takes Russian prediction seriously)
WorldnetDaily ^ | Dec 30,2008 | Joseph Farah

In 1990, few were predicting the breakup of the Soviet Union.

But it came – only a year later.

With 2009 set to begin in a few days, there is someone predicting the breakup of the United States – a year from now.

His name is Igor Panarin, a former KGB analyst and dean of the Russian Foreign Ministry's school for foreign diplomats – in other words, a serious fellow.

For him, it's nothing new. He's been making the same prediction for last 10 years. But, until recently, no one took him seriously. And then came the economic calamity that has rocked Americans and the rest of the world, too. Now, Panarin's predictions of an end of the United States, due to economic and moral collapse, is being taken seriously by many.

Panarin blames out-of-control mass immigration, economic decline and moral degradation for what he believes could be a civil war as early as next fall and a total collapse of the dollar. By June or July of 2010, he sees the U.S. breaking into six pieces.

Now, I'm not buying into Panarin's entire prediction. But I do think there's something to it.

I've been talking about this possibility more and more in recent years. I don't see how this house of cards we're building can possibly withstand the next significant windstorm. The political ties no longer bind. Only inertia and the threat of force hold us together.

The economic crisis is clearly visible to all – but all the wrong buttons are being pushed. In fact, the same people who got us into this mess are digging a deeper hole for all of us to climb out of.

The other two crises he points to have scarcely even been recognized by many people – out-of-control immigration and moral rot.

No idea why you are so angry... the subject was the breakup of the US. I didn’t say you supported taking up arms against your country...I said ‘if’. Many on this thread did support this. Read the entire post if you think I’m wrong.

I’m not selling anything. I don’t expect people to agree with me. I merely post on threads I find interesting. As for trust...I neither trust nor distrust people...I do not believe that people have to kowtow to some universal conservative dogma or be considered trolls. I don’t attribute some dark motive to those who disagree with me either. It’s the differences between us that make this an interesting and informative site. I like and respect many on this forum whether I agree or disagree with them.

I am for the loan to the big three...I work for GM in management.

Chapter 11 worked for the airlines and will work for the auto industry. Especially by allowing re-structure of union contracts.

I think having a domestic auto industry is important to this country...not surprising.

It's important primarily for defense purposes. But if I had my choice on how to spend the total of $10 billion of taxpayer 'donations', my vote is to start up a new company in a lower labor cost, right-to-work state (non-union) that can compete globally.

The other thing is to get rid of government regulations such as CAFE standards. If the Execs at the auto manufacturers had any vision, let alone courage, they would have demanded that as part of the deal, otherwise they would choose Chapter 11 or maybe sell to foreign investor.

I would love to play poker against any of those 3 metrosexual CEOs.

Listen, I don’t think bankruptcy will work. Look at Adelphi...a GM bankruptcy would be far worse. I believe it would end in chapter 7. A plane ticket cost much less than a car, and you don’t need a warranty.

You have no idea how much it would cost to set up a new car industry...better to keep the one we have and make it work. Cafe is ridiculous and always was. As for the unions...honestly except for work rules which I believe will be changed soon, they have given on every wage and benefit issue to the point the rank and file resents the unions because they can get them nothing of value. Legacy must be addressed...this is a really tough issue. I believe it can be done and we can save this industry-it may very well lead us out of this economic downturn. GMAC becoming a bank and lending to people with middle of the road credit is huge. It will generate spending.

I see the book is eligible for super saving and I am off a month (all GM managers have to take vacation during January) so I will order the book. Thanks for the suggestion, it looks interesting.

Again thanks for the book suggestion. Look, I have no desire to offend anyone...well maybe some, but not you. Thus, please allow me to apologize for offending you. It was damn nice of you to suggest that book.

You must have missed where I had mentioned the media’s role in foisting the America hating marxist upon us.

The GOP and Conservatives in general NEVER get a fair shake when it comes to media coverage because the media is for all intents and purposes a wing of the democratic party and they will lie, distort, and bury as much as they can so they can win elections.

If it were a Republican who is hiding his birth certificate, college transcripts, thesis papers, and other documentation they would be screaming until they’re purple in the face. Yet little boy barry IS hiding everything about his past from public scrutiny and the media is silent about it.

Well, it is hard for me to believe even dems...(yuck) would run a candidate who is not constitutionally qualified. They could have had Hillary...she probably would have won against McCain. However, I don’t like Berg and don’t trust anything he is involved in. He wants to indict Bush/Cheney you know and has a 9-11 conspiracy theory. I though Obama had posted his birth certificate. Honestly, I have seen nothing that indicates he was not born in the USA. Do you buy the natural born argument...his Mother was not old enough, his Father was a foreigner etc?

If he has nothing to hide then he should release everything correct?

I don’t like Berg either, but his case is not the only one out there that’s related to the fact that 0bama and his bootlicking underlings are doing everything they can to cover up his past.

I don’t know. I’m not familiar with any other cases. only one I’ve seen is the Berg case and the D’onfrio, but this is gone as far as I know. There was some PI stuff having to do with a divorce, but I could not see as how this proved anything. It was from the same source as the whitey tapes also. I can’t speak to other cases as I did not see the discussions or really know anything about them. I would expect congress to get involved if there is anything there...but maybe the GOP is too cowardly. Who knows?
