In the 1920 Election, Blacks were urged to vote Republican and at the time it was Warren G. Harding and Calvin Coolidge.
Blacks even voted for Hoover in 1932; they did not switch to FDR until 1936. Then they vacillated between Stevenson and Eisenhower before coming down 70 percent for JFK and 98 percent for LBJ. Goldwater scared the American people, sensitive souls that they are.
