Blacks even voted for Hoover in 1932; they did not switch to FDR until 1936. Then they vacillated between Stevenson and Eisenhower before coming down 70 percent for JFK and 98 percent for LBJ. Goldwater scared the American people, sensitive souls that they are.
Herbert Hoover was American Indian and even boasted about it. He has been unfairly vilified for not doing anything about the Great Depression, which was the right action. LBJ was no supporter of Civil Rights. In fact, he looked down on Blacks.
