WASHINGTON (AP) - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says the country is not "race-blind" and "we shouldn't deceive ourselves that we're race-blind," but said the election of Barack Obama as the first African-American president was a key moment in history.

"I think all Americans were quite taken with the fact that we were able, after the long history we've been through, that initial birth defect of slavery, that we've elected an African-American."

Personally, I am soooo tired of all the discussion about “race.” For me, it’s a non-issue.

I am disappointed in Condoleeza Rice.

But eight years of accusations of “selling out to whitey” must have taken their toll.

IMHO, she’s making her peace with the New Order.

I read this and got nauseated.

They didn't give Condee an arab broad did they?

With Hitlery as SOS there is a chance she'll engage in pillow talk with WhoAmI Abeddin who will inform the jihadists.

We are in deep trouble, but then we knew that all along.

It is good that we could elect a “president of color”. It's just too bad we elected the wrong one. If Thomas Sowell ever runs I'll be campaigning door to door for him.

Colin Powell and Condi Rice have been major disappointments. They’ve proven one thing - they have racist tendencies.

Working within an all black community (I’m white) has opened my eyes to a side of racism not known to me.

The presidential election of 2008 brought out the racist and ask a black person on the street who they voted for and why...they will instantly tell you that they voted for Obama, they did not know his policies, and they admitted because he was black.

The news media won’t report this and this didn’t take a million dollar government financed study to determine the findings.

There must be something in the water in the White House. Maybe they still have those lead water pipes?

She still is in the closet as are alot of people high up in the Republican Party power structure. The Democratic Party does not have a lock on this, there are more closet Queens in the Grand GOP. Jim Kolbe, is the only GOP Politician that was out. I think the attitude in Republican Party Circles is: well, that is not the lifestyle that I approve of but do it in private not out in the open, sort of a don’t ask-don’t tell policy./Just Asking - seoul62.......

During the election, one of the Asian Americans said 0bama’s experience is closer to some Asian American experiences than African Americans’. Now I see his point. None of 0’s ancestors came to US as a slave. His father, already an elite in his own country, came as a graduate student who later married to a white American woman. Non unlike many successful Asians here.

He doesn’t encourage me. In fact, he makes me pretty damned nervous.

Especially how he keeps sidling a little closer, crack pipe in hand.

I am so tired of the drivel about electing a black man. This is exactly what Martin Luther King fought against. We should be looking at the content of their character rather than the color of their skin.

So Condi thinks Obama-lama-ding-dong’s election was a “key moment in history.”

Yeah, November 4, 2008 was a “key date” in history.

So was December 7, 1941.....November 22, 1963.....and
September 11, 2001.

Read my tag line.

I would have been quite pleased with the election of a black man, if that black man had been Walter Williams, or Thomas Sowell, or Ken Blackwell, or Michael Steele, or.....

Contrary to MLK’s pronouncement,it’s the color of one’s skin not the content of their character, if one would believe jerks like Colin Powell and Condi Rice.

LOL. No. You just post a link or two, please.

You've basically asserted that Repubs are all queens, or many are, but not out of the closet and "everyone" knows it.

Let's posit that this is true for the sake of argumentation. Why would it matter. Do you think being openly a sexualist is a "good" and productive matter or concern for people? I don't. I've seen it destroy my city. It doesn't make people hypocrites to NOT politicize a sexual flavor or habit. To politicize a sexual practice sans a meaning is simply another form of exhibitionism. A prurient practice and habit, akin to demanding others legally and openly "sniff your butt".
