President-elect Barack Obama will board a train in a month and retrace Abraham Lincolns inaugural journey to Washington, D.C., but hopefully with much less mayhem. At least, there will be less time for anything to go awry. As opposed to Lincolns two-week trek in 1861, Obamas journey will begin and end on Jan. 17, setting off from Philadelphia and making a stop in Wilmington, Del., to pick up Vice President-elect Joseph Biden Jr. and his family, and a stop in Baltimore for an unspecified event. The entourage, aboard a chartered train, will arrive in the District in the evening.

The Messiah now thinks he's Abraham Lincoln, never mind the fact that Lincoln started his 1861 trip to Washington, DC from Springfield, Illinois.

President-elect Barack Obama will board a train in a month and retrace Abraham Lincolns inaugural journey to Washington, D.C., But why? If BO ever studied Lincoln he'd know Lincoln considered blacks inferior. These people get more bizzare by the day.

"My friends, no one, not in my situation, can appreciate my feeling of sadness at this parting. To this place, and the kindness of these people, I owe everything. Here I have lived a quarter of a century, and have passed from a young to an old man. Here my children have been born, and one is buried. I now leave, not knowing when, or whether ever, I may return, with a task before me greater than that which rested upon Washington. Without the assistance of the Divine Being who ever attended him, I cannot succeed. With that assistance I cannot fail. Trusting in Him who can go with me, and remain with you, and be everywhere for good, let us confidently hope that all will yet be well. To His care commending you, as I hope in your prayers you will commend me, I bid you an affectionate farewell."Do you think Obama could get through a speech like that without a bunch of 'ums' mixed in.

One child has her eyes closed, the other child is wadded up so you can’t see her, Michelle has that too-familiar “bite me” look on her face. Looter Dude is the only one that seems to have his act together. :-)

And Lincoln snuck into DC in disguise. I suggest a Dumbo Halloween outfit.

And he will take the oath on the Bible Lincoln used for his second inauguration.

A few crisis and four years of dealing with Congress and Obama is going to be a dead-ringer for Morgan Freeman in four years.
Will it be worth it to him?

I have been watching a series on The White House on C-span everynight this week. There has been alot said about Lincoln. Obama is about as far from Abe as you can get. Abe was an honest, decent man. He got mad at his wife for buying new carpet for the WH during war time. He suffered the tragic death of his son, Willy, in the WH. B. Hussein is NO Abe and he should stop acting like he is.
To: Virginia Ridgerunner
This is bizarre. Lincoln, in 1861, included a stop in Baltimore. There, he was nearly assassinated.

Not if you're a closet Muslim.
Besides, neither Michelle nor Barry was raised in what we Southerners call "polite society." They were raised in scrappy Chicago politics. I'll bet Michelle doesn't even know how to identify the fish knife at her place setting in the WH dining room. And I bet she eats her caviar with her fingers, too.
Nothing personal, but Michelle and Barry are uncouth. I take that back, I meant it personally.
