President-elect Barack Obama said Monday a review by his own lawyer shows he had no direct contact with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich about the appointment of a Senate replacement, and transition aides "did nothing inappropriate."
Obama said he is prepared to make the review public, but decided to hold off because prosecutors asked for a delay and "I don't want to interfere with an ongoing investigation."
Controversy has swirled around the president-elect and his incoming White House chief of staff, Rep. Rahm Emanuel, following Blagojevich's arrest last week on charges he schemed to trade Obama's Senate seat for personal gain.
Obama, fielding questions at a news conference, sidestepped when asked whether Emanuel had spoken with aides to the governor.
Emanuel was one of several aides who watched the news conference from the wings.
The president-elect pledged the results of the investigation by his incoming White House counsel, Gregory Craig, would be released "in due course."
He said the probe was complete and thorough, but did not say which of his aides Craig interviewed, whether any of them was under oath at the time, or any other details.

Obama: I investigated myself, and I can say with all honesty that I am a good boy, I did nothing wrong.
Obama would have made a great used car salesman.
Well that certainly settles it doesn’t it — OBamBam investigated himself and found hiimself to be pure as the wind driven show.
show = snow, LOL
That headline just kills me! It’s smacks of ‘molestation’........which, no doubt, he’s inflicting upon the US.
Well, then. That settles that. Happy days are here again...
Is it stupidity,
Or wholesale arrogance,
That Obama thinks saying his own lawyer says it was OK isn’t suspicious.
By the way, does “no direct conduct” preclude Obama whispering in Rahm’s ear while Rahm phoned Blago?
And wouldn't the country be better off if he was selling previously flooded cars to unspuspecting buyers instead of selling Communism to unsuspecting fellow nimrod countrymen.
Yes, he would have made a great used car salesman. Terrifying...
President-Elect Obama's spokesman Nathan Thurm:
"I knew that... we're not interfering with the investigation... you're interfering! What makes you think we're interfering? We didn't do anything inappropriate... who said anything about inappropriate contacts? I didn't say anything was inappropriate, you said that. We'll release the report 'in due course...' we didn't say 'in a few days...' who said we'd release it in a few days?"

“I did not have s....”
Even more deja vu from the Clinton years.
Just noticed, Janet and Blago must use the same barber!
Nothing says transparency like a review conducted by your own lawyer.
In other news, the referees at the Steelers/Ravens showdown asked Pittsburgh’s wide receiver Santonio Holmes if he, in fact, had possession of the ball at the time the ball had broken the plane of the goal line on a critical pass play with only seconds remaining in the game. Holmes replied, “Yes, I had the ball and the ball was over the line, which means I scored a touchdown.” The officials, confident that Holmes’ interpretation was unbiased and accurate, reversed the call on the field and gave the Steelers the touchdown and, ultimately, the victory.
Unreal. He will get a free pass too. The only way I can see that citizens can try to gain control of our country is by cancelling cable or sat TV. Cancel newspaper subscriptions, magazines, aviod Disney & Universal, or anything woned by the MSM, etc.
The only way to stop the MSM from protecting O’s dishonesty and fraud is by hitting the MSM in the pocketbook. they are like Soviet propaganda now BUT they are vulnerable because almost all of them are losing money. 10% of conservatives tuning out or cancelling services could be enough.
Somewhere OJ Simpson and Casey Anthony are saying “Wait, it’s THAT simple to get away with something, DAMN”
I never thought I’d miss President Clinton....
