McCain scolds GOP for whacking Obama
Politico ^ | 2008-12-14 | Mike Allen

Posted on 12/14/2008 7:40:23 AM PST by rabscuttle385

In a surprising rebuke to the warriors who fought for him through tough times, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Sunday sided with President-elect Barack Obama and scolded the Republican National Committee for fanning the Illinois corruption scandal.

On ABC’s “This Week,” host George Stephanopoulos asked: “The chairman of the Republican National Committee, Mike Duncan, has been highly critical of the way President- elect Obama has dealt with this.

"He's had a statement every single day, saying that the Obama team should reveal all contacts they've had with Governor [Rod] Blagojevich. He says that Obama's promise of transparency to the American people is now being tested. Do you agree with that?”

McCain replied: “I think that the Obama campaign should and will give all information necessary. You know, in all due respect to the Republican National Committee and anybody — right now, I think we should try to be working constructively together, not only on an issue such as this, but on the economy stimulus package, reforms that are necessary. And so, I don't know all the details of the relationship between President-elect Obama's campaign or his people and the governor of Illinois, but I have some confidence that all the information will come out. It always does, it seems to me.”

I guess this goes to prove that Sarah took the balls back to Alaska with her.

I think his body has been taken over by Jimmah Cotter. Quick, look for the pods!

At least Jimmy Carter was able to win the presidency. McCain is an even bigger loser than Carter.

Shades of Jefferson in 1796? I wouldn’t give them that much credit.

meh...

Some of us knew this when it was Bush and McCain vying for the nomination. McQueeg has only drifted further Left since then.

Like McCain, Carter is a leftist, but he at least has the decency not to pretend to be something he's not.

If the Republican leadership had any sense, they would kick McCain off his Senate committees until he learns how to behave himself. And cut off the pork from his state.

McCain has been undermining the party, as well as conservatives, for decades. And what do they do but reward him with the presidential nomination? Time to get back to practical politics: reward your friends and faithful party members, and punish your enemies. McCain has amply demonstrated that he is the enemy.

Yup, I too voted FOR Sarah, and against Odumbo. mccain was just the other name on the ballot- the one on Sarah’s ticket, and the one opposite the Kenyan.

Ugh.. Here we go....

The ‘Politico’ (which, if it was up to me would be treated by Free Republic’s moderators the same way the Huffington Post is treated) fabricates a wholly deceptive headline and the knee-jerkers, who rarely actually read past the headline anyway, storm their keyboards to post about what a “RINO” scumbag McCain is.

It’s embarrassing.

Exactly,

I kept waiting for him, McCain to actually fight to win the election, now I wonder, what was he up to,

When I watched his body language I wondered, does he really like Sarah?

Or,

Did they know they didn’t have a chance?

Was Palin just being introduced, so a conservative would be the first woman president,

What are the names of the seven dwarfs?, lol

OH well I just have many questions.

Sure we will Maverick....let's sell that IL. senate seat together as one and wipe out the national debt too.

Well, John, thanks for all you’ve done to make Hussein more powerful. Maybe you could’ve helped the conservative cause, you know, just once in a while, during the past 4 years.

‘Course, that would’ve interfered with your efforts to suck up to the media.

Yeah, I worked for you during the campaign. You were better than the alternative. Now why don’t you just slink back to the Senate and keep your pie hole shut?

It looks more and more like McCain just threw the elcetion.
I've said it before, been severely criticized for it, and I'll say it again:

John McCain is a traitor.

I would like a moratorium on McCain posts. They are simply too aggravating. The Republican candidate in 2008 couldn't be bothered to run a winning campaign. I say we should completely ignore him from now on.

Romney has been a helluva lot more conservative than McCain. That is for damn sure.

Really, though, the religious bashing isn’t necessary is it? I think Mormonism is off base, too. But Mitt didn’t make it a centerpiece of a book (like Hussein did), AND his religion doesn’t preach hate America theology (like Hussein’s does). So why rip him for it? I am an evangelical who supported Mitt. (He and Fred were my top 2 choices).

I say we should completely ignore him from now on.

First remove him from the Senate; then conservatives can ignore him.
