Granholm assails Republican senators

Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm used pugilistic imagery Friday, reacting to Senate Republicans who failed to support a $14 billion bailout for U.S. automakers.

"Republican senators have just delivered a fierce slap at three million workers across America," Granholm said in a statement.

"Their no vote is an astounding blow," she said. "They have chosen to ignore the livelihood of three million Americans, three million families, and in the process have chosen to drive the American manufacturing industry -- and perhaps the American economy -- into the ground.

"A nation without a strong manufacturing sector is a nation without a viable defense sector," she said, alluding, perhaps, to automakers who turned out tanks during World War II.

"This is a shameful day, a day we will not forget," she said.

Granholm called on President George W. Bush to step in.

Bush indicated Friday that he would tap into the $700 billion financial bailout fund to help carmakers, MSNBC reported.

"A nation without a strong manufacturing sector is a nation without a viable defense sector,"...

Sure, because Dems always support a strong national defense.

She can go back to Canada. I love how the UAW were offering pay cuts in 2011. The white collar and non-union workers get peanuts at the car companies while the UAW members eat lobster by comparison. Take a pay cut or let the companies go into bankruptcy and work it. out.

Granholm is a liar. The companies and enter bankruptcy and many jobs will be saved. Why should taxpayers subsidize incredible wages, benefits and the besty retirement healthcare in the world - on par with the healthcare Congress people and illegal aliens get for free.

Yo, Jennifer, baby, here's the roll call of the vote. You'll notice that 8 RATS voted nay and 4 didn't vote at all while 10 Republicans voted aye. In other words, the RATS are to blame.

Granholm is a shameless UAW ho.

The GOP was standing up for the American taxpayer, not the union thugs who have destroyed the Big 3 and Michigan.

Good to see that Chambliss voted NO. Good for him, he made Sarah proud by that vote..
Granholm single handily destroyed Michigan now she wants to give advice, what an idiot. Anyone that can listen to her needs to have their heads examined

Hey Jenny why don’t you propose that YOUR taxpayers pony up the $14 billion. Let us know how that works out for you.

+1 on that.

Seems I recall a story a few years back where the State of MI mandated that the counties change from a system where they handled their own child support payments to a system where all funds were payed to the state, then the state sent them back to/through the counties. Shortly thereafter the State of Michigan OUTSOURCED the program.

Huh? Jobs? Huh?

No, Jenny needs to get Jeff Daniels to raise money for her, as he has been the Poster Pimp for her state for the past few years.
