It looks like Oliver Stone enjoys being in the company of presidents. The helmer is following up his Bush biopic "W." with a documentary about Venezuela's controversial President Hugo Chavez. Stone has been working on the untitled doc for six months and is hoping to have it ready for next year.
"It's about Chavez and the South American revolution," Stone told Daily Variety in a reference to the wave of leftist pols elected to office in Latin America in recent years.
Stone was with Chavez in February during the dramatic rescue of hostages that Chavez helped to broker from the militant Columbian FARC group. The doc will not focus on the rescue but rather the opposition Chavez has faced at home and abroad, especially from the Bush administration, which has been vocal in its distaste for the populist socialism espoused by Venezuela's president.

Fish face.
“Say Oliver: How big a hit was that “W” flick for you, anyway?”
LOL!
Ollie has to be a masochist. He likes losing money. Then again it would be interesting to see the difference in the portrayal of Hugo and Dubya.
A documentary on this nutjob Chavez would be interesting.
A documentary on this nutjob Chavez done by Oliver Stone would be propaganda.
Well deserved opposition. Stone is going to make a pro-chavez movie? I can't believe it. I gave Ollie a pass for W as he said it was a fair portrayal, but this is sick!!!
What’s next? Making a a “hero” out of Mugabe?
So, Ollie, how did “W” do at the box office?
Stone is just another hack film-maker who has found a niche in making mediocre Communist propaganda. Ho Hum. He must really like Chavez though since Hugito probably supplies Stone with coke and young boys...
The sex scenes with Chavez and Cindy Sheehan could take up a third of the film. Hot stuff.
Thans a lot. Now I have to go wash my mind out with Lysol.
Hmm...is there no end to the money that Hollywood is willing to lose to prop up leftists?
My first thought was “Who in their right mind keeps financing Stone’s dead in the water projects?” Then I realized that Hugo would be happy to fork over as much as Stone wants.
Starring Sean Penn?
Hey Ollie....make sure you interview the extended families of those that your idol made disappear......if you can find the extended families.
