All I remember is how incredibly cautious he was. Not that he wasn't decisive, just that he avoided making controversial decisions or doing anything controversial at all.

I think Britt gave something like six months notice.....not exactly sudden.
I have a story that trumps that.
“Fired by an Answering Machine”
During my 2nd stint as a Regional Sales Manager, I received a letter-of-termination from the home office for a “mature” salesman, but was told to hold off delivering it for a few days. No one told the computer guy to delay things, he had been instructed to change the answering machine reply on a given date.
One of the salesman’s “old” customers call and tried to leave a message for the salesman, and got a recording saying “ XYZ no longer works for ABC Co., please contact BlaBla at 800-???-??? for assistance”
The customer called the salesman at home and asked “have you been fired?” The salesman said I don’t think so. The customer said you should call your answering machine and check.
I wore my asbestos britches when I did deliver the severance letter. Never felt so bad about anything in my life. He probably still blames me for it, but I had absolutely nothing to do with the decision. But he worked for me.
This is what the world has evolved into. It was not intended to happen, but it did none the less.
de Texas Fossil
I have a problem with Julie Banderas (born Julie E. Bidwell). She is no way as good a Laurie Dhue.
I understand Julie got the job by sleeping with a Faux Producer.
Jerry Rivers is the Pits however.
I think they are speaking in code on Fox news because they have become CNN and MSNBC-Lite since about 1 month before the lection. Rove probably told Ailes & Murdoch that McCain was going to lose so they went into Obama pander mode.
Does anyone know who is going to take Britt’s place? I suppose it will be Wallace, but I really like to watch Brett Baer....I think he is good. Wallace is good too...but, he is an admitted democrat. There are enough of those on prime time news. Baer, don’t have any idea what party he likes.
They are out to make money. I don’t think Murdoch is a conservative, but he knew that most Americans were, and that they should have a voice in news coverage. But, I suppose, that with the two democratic wins, in the last elections, he feels that America is starting to lean left, and that is where he will make money.
No, I thought I read about it like a year ago. His wife retired over a year ago and word was that he was going to as well after the election, iirc.
You are so right! I once knew of (fortunately from a bit of a distance, but through a friend’s eyes) this exact dynamic in a most dramatic setting, with tumultuous results. Sorry, can’t give any juicy details b/c there were serious legal ramifications inn the end, charges and counter-charges etc., but it was in a university office setting (think of an office run by the scum of the Duke faculty, but at another institution)..... and the dynamic was exactly what you describe: complacent snivelling brown-nosers with cozy sinecures protected by the boss, a more innovative employee who was known as the best of the office but made the boss uneasy (showing her up too often without meaning to, merely by performing and thinking independently), etc.
There was also an intense stream of leftist politically correct b.s. which made me really feel for my friend (who was in the middle of this as a dreaded white male threat to the university PC culture). Bad combo of the worst of mindless bureaucratic culture and pc nonsense.
I knew several of the people involved and despised them all except for my good friend, who get the hell out after awhile due to the Peyton Place of liberal/dyke-fest/gay/dim-witted political correctness.
It was one of the things that made me despise politically correct academic bureaucrats more than ever, since all the snivelling sycophants were well protected by the bull-dyke boss who could only work with such brown-nosers and not with people of actual performance and accomplishment.
I am with ya. This illinois mess is worth tuning in for. Rahm is implicated, Jessie Jackson jr.....David Axelrod says Obama was in talks with the Gov...and Obama hasn’t even been sworn in yet! Already with the dirty politics...but, listen, this is who America wanted. He didn’t hide who he was....he associates with crooks, and enemies of America, always has. Now he says that he will be sworn in using his middle name, “Hussein” and that he is going to travel to an Islamic capitol to give a major speech!
I have missed Neil Cavuto......but I fell asleep before JJjr came on...good thing the phone rang.
Anyone seen Eric Shawn lately?
CARL CAMERLOON was TERRIBLE during the Election Cycle and did a Gay Freakout against Sarah on the day after the Election, a terrible bitchy rant! The IDIOT needs to be FIRED Real Bad! He automatically causes Violent Hurls upon sight:-(
ALAN COLMES is being hurled out the door and not a nanosecond tooo soooooo! Talk about a Flaming Idiot, ah, but maybe it will be boring and sane without the Nincumpoop:-)
Yes, he is on every Sunday morning.
E.D. Hill was let go because she is 47 years old.
You forgot Shep Smith. Now there’s a bathwater drinker if I ever saw one.
Greg Kelly has been co-hosting Fox-5's Good Day New York since July.
That was a fun explanation.
Needless to say, after clearing security, I headed to the nearest bar to wait for my flight. Used the company card too.
You'd think they could have waited til I got home. But what can you do, they have time frames to work with.
