HUNTINGTON WOODS, Mich. (WXYZ) - A retired General Motors engineer is taking aim at one of the auto aid package's biggest critics with his new website.

Joe Babiasz says he's launched BoycottAlabamaNow.com to show Republican Senator Richard Shelby what's it's like "to turn your back on hardworking Americans." Shelby has been one of the biggest critics of both the aid package and Detroit's automakers.
The website includes contact information for Shelby, and a page that takes on some of the things Shelby has said about the Big 3.
Babiasz says his message to Shelby is "if you're not going to support America, we're not going to support Alabama."
While we were there I ask about places to shoot skeet, trap etc.
The woman behind the counter said "Sir, you won't find any of those places around here, we eat what we shoot."
I was going to say... is it really a boycott if you were never going to buy the product(s) in the first place?

Well what does Alabama have worth visiting or what does it produce that's worthy buying? Is it possible that I've been boycotting Alabame for 25 years and never even known it?

Incorrect - wages to Canadians only. There won’t be any profits for Americans. Remember, the bailout that just passed the House says that the government gets the profits first... if any.

I've never had any interest in buying a Mercedes and I think you're confusing Alabama with Mississippi. The ship building is done in Pascagoula.

So, we give millions of dollars to these companies. What is that to you? That is our tax money bringing high quality jobs to this state. My area is one of the fastest growing in the country. It is in the top 10 or so in an area to start a small business. It is in the top ? in its being green, the schools are among the best in the country. West of us is the small town of Madison which is growing by leaps and bounds. Construction is going on in every part of the city. The roads are having trouble keeping up with the traffic but we are working on that. There are several top notch colleges here including UAH. I would not want to live anywhere else.
Huntsville is another area that is really growing. It has made top 10 or so lists in schools, place to start small businesses, is a top green city, etc. Construction is going on in all areas but especially the west out toward Madison, Decatur and Athens. I have lived here since 1966 and would not want to live anywhere else.
Huntsville has made top whatever number in quite a number of categories. It is often referred to as the Silicon Valley of the East. I love it here.
