An Obama aide, speaking on the condition of anonymity, took back David Axelrod's remark last month that Barack Obama and Rod Blagojevich had spoken recently.

"What the president-elect said today is correct, David Axelrod misspoke," the aide said.

Obama said today the men had not spoken.

An open question: When they last spoke.

Look, it's one thing to obfuscate, all politicians do it to one extent or another, but this kind of thing approaches pathological.

Why wouldn't he just say “Of course I spoke to him about selection of my replacement. It's an extremely important position and if I can have input in the selection process, I'll certainly take it. But at no time did I have any suspicion that the position was open to the highest bidder, and if that accusation is true, I applaud the U.S. Attorney for taking action as swiftly as he did.”

Axelrod was telling the truth until Blago got arrested, then what Obama said was the truth.

I saw the tape and AxRod didn't stutter and spoke very clearly. That misspoke person is lying.

Just like the Kenyan Ambassador, who claimed to have been misquoted, even though his words were on an audio recording. (He indicated that it was well known that Obama's birthplace was in Kenya).

I went to a little private lunch today with the guys from ADF (Alliance Defense Fund). This group was set up specifically to counteract ACLU. They said they’re making great inroads and one thing that has hugely helped is,they need to fight these losers with the fact that they don’t have STANDING when they try to get God out of our society and it’s crippled the losers in the courtroom because none of these idiot liberals can prove they’ve been harmed. This is a big step in fighting for God’s rights in this country.

also, asking questions whether ANYONE from obummer’s camp spoke with Blajo, even if odumbo didnt.

And while it seems clear that dumbo isnt directly involved in the criminal matter, this was a bad day for him.
