Actually he was born in a civilian hospital in Panama while his father was stationed at Coco Solo but that's beside the point. So far as federal law and I'm concerned, McCain is a natural born U.S. citizen because both his parents were U.S. citizens who had lived in the states for a number of years before he was born. I have absolutely no problems accepting that. But Donofrio has twisted 'natural born U.S. citizen' status to mean someone born on U.S. soil of U.S. citizen parents. And in that respect, McCain doesn't qualify. That's why if the Court were to take on the Donofrio case and if he won then neither McCain or Obama could be president.
Sounds like a win-win situation to me.
This is a case for the Constitutional lawyers to figure out regarding Juan McCain. Obama as far as I can see is a foreigner.
“That’s why if the Court were to take on the Donofrio case and if he won then neither McCain or Obama could be president.”
^IF^ it goes to argument before the SCOTUS, I think a lot of the argument will hinge on the fact that a foreign-born national was placed on the NJ ballot by the SOS. No due diligence is dereliction of duty.
The NJ electors should be stayed until the SOS does her duty - vetting ALL the candidates.
NJ electors not enough for Opossumm to lose, SOS will toss them under the bus and Certifigate will go on.
I know you probably don’t, but are there still people that think that McCain still has a chance at becoming president? I sure hope not....
important to note that John McCain dealt with this issue straight-up — a bill was introduced in Congress to clear the matter up —

bill was a bi-partisan affair — introduced by Patrick Leahy.
If you are at all intrerested in the issue you should read it.
No; they are two specifications included in the case. The Court could rule that McCain -- as all Diplomats families offspring are -- qualifies as a 'natural-born' citizen, whereas Obama's Kenyan father negates his claim to 'natural-born' status.
However, Donofrio's case is not asking the USSC to rule on that point yet; he is asking the Court to mandate that the Secretary of the State of New Jersey verify the qualifications of the candidates before allowing the NJ Electors to cast their votes in the NJ Electoral College vote on December 15. The NJ SoS did not do that, and the NJ State Courts punted him off, so his only recourse was the USSC. Legally, I believe he will win, but I doubt it will make the NJ SoS disqualify anyone.
But it will be interesting. :^)
for all the belly aching, people have lost sight of something very simple.
0bama could end all speculation by simply showing the birth certificate, just like John McCain did when asked the same question around the same time last spring.
so... what you really need to ask yourself is... why all the stonewalling? that in itself should give you pause.
