FLINT, Michigan -- With 10 kids and no vehicle, Latrica Ryan is used to juggling.
Going to a movie or out for dinner is a like plotting a major tactical undertaking. Not that such outings happen that much.
"It would really be nice if I could take my kids where they needed to go, instead of having to find them a ride," Ryan said. "And when we do go somewhere, I have to pay four or five people (for gas) to get us all there.
"I have booster seats and car seats. It's a lot."
Ryan, is a 29-year-old single stay-at-home mother of five sons and five daughters, who range in age from 2 months to 13 years.

No job means lots of time to make more babies
I suggest this fecund mother look to the Media for help instead of The Community" (us). After all, the media is the only entity to make a profit off her and others like her.
The media's up-close-and-personal sob stories are always ripe for the plucking......and the MSM know this kind of sleaze-journalism sells like hotcakes. This woman is an income-producer for the media.
Let's see, Supermom should hit CNN, the NYT, the LAT plus all other liberal media for a mere 5000 clams each. Small price for them to pay, actually.
This would enable her to buy a big van, several plasma TV's and entry for all the kids into college.
In fact, some enterprising realty show could follow her from the moment Pinch Sulzberger hands her a check all the way through the ups and downs of this family's daily life with the media as Benign Substitute Father.
The Marxist Media loves these downtrodden people soooo much......let IT be Big Daddy for a while instead of us.

“Retinea”??? The plural of the term for an invertebrate retina? I’ll chalk this up more to her being dumb and ignorant than to her having a keen interest in biology.
“Wheres daddy?”
You actually think there’s only one?
Well, I’m a SAHM (married, two children) and am blessed to be. It’s something my husband and I agreed on and what we decided was best for the kids. I know it’s not very common these days. I was raised with my mother at home.
We are, of course, a single-income family, and don’t have many luxuries as many of our friends do who both work. We don’t go on vacation a lot, don’t go out to dinner except a few times a year, we drive used cars (which are now paid for), and we buy wisely for clothing, food, and toys. We are ‘better off’ than some, I know, but we’ve just learned to make sacrifices..........and wouldn’t have it any other way. :)
LOL!
No I didn’t miss that she was single. I was just being a wise-guy - or is it wise-gal.
Oh, please, she is NOT working. With 10 kids aged 2 months to 13 years, you think she has a job? She's receiving aid from FACE and a dime to a donut she's on welfare, too. I do not commend a stay at home mom who does nothing but pump out more kids. If someone is so dumb as to have 10 kids with no father present, she has absolutely NO respect from me.
I think we have a failure to communicate -
you’re referring to the “mom” in the article,
I thought you were originally referring to the mom (freeper) to whom you replied.
They now live in a 7000 sq. ft home, built "primarily" by Jim Bob and the 2 or 3 oldest boys, but with some help from a few professional friends (and the rest of the family at times). It took them over 2 years to build, and they do everything debt free.
Before they had this home (and 17 kids), they lived in a 3 bedroom (I believe 1 bathroom) ranch home, of approximately 1400 sq. ft when they had 14 kids.
My buddy and his wife have 7 kids. There's a lot of HAPPY noise in their house. I've been out in public with them and all the kids a number of times, and they're all well behaved. Waitresses will bring other waitresses by, to see ALL the well behaved kids. Customers will stop by to make compliments. Managers have even bought dessert for the family, simply because of how well behaved all the kids are.
Maybe they're all out looking for jobs? Nah......
Nope, definitely my comments were directed to the mom in the article.
Don't you remember the YouTube video:

Obama's going to pay for her gas.
No. I was being sarcastic.
"Shaniqua, you, Darnell and Shanaynay, take the rest of the kids out in the hall and play. Mama's going to get... I mean BE busy for awhile".
Just the kind of people that SHOULD be having loads of babies!
Look at this broad! Evidently she found ten extremely drunk guys. Or perhaps ten members of the Hellen Keller society. Anyhow, for those who wonder how Hussein got elected, we’ve been paying these people to breed and not work for the past 50 years. That translates into a lot of dependency and a lot of votes. Any questions?
Years ago I remember seeing some talk show about a black single mother of about eight kids who had gone to the mayor or governor of New Jersey...can't remember now...but she told him, "My welfare checks aren't enough, what are you going to do about it?" And the politican (also black) said, "Well, why did you have so many kids?" And it hit the fan that the guy had been so "insensitive" as to say something like that. The politican appeared on the talk show as well as the welfare mom and her kids. The politician pointed out that he and his wife were limiting their family because they couldn't afford more kids. Plus his wife had to go back to work after having a baby, even though she would have liked to have stayed home. In other words, they were being responsible, yet they had to pay for welfare queens like the mom of eight.
The mom had the same attitude as the person you quoted, "I have a right to have as many kids as I want." I remember at one point in the show, she dramatically pointed to her brood of kids and said, "Tell me which one I should kill!" I sat there watching the show in utter disbelief. Society used to shame people like this. Now, people who dare to ask them, "Why did you have so many kids?" are the ones shamed.
That “500 bucks a month, high-five” mentality has long since spread to poor white communities. I grew up in a small town in Michigan, and I remember in 1982 knowing a 15 year old girl who told her friends that her life plan was, at 17, to have a baby and go on ADC (Aid to Dependent Children.) Tammy was her name. And at 17, she did exactly that. And was pleased with herself.
What is the point of this article, really? To portray the situation as so bad that drastic and immediate action is needed: universal health-care, child-care, welfare, and possible mandatory sterilizations. When the only possible solution veers dangerously close to traditional morality, better to sew seeds of hopelessness.
