-- Last weekend, 18 days after Barack Obama decisively defeated their candidate for president, a mostly Republican crowd of self-described conservatives received their first introduction to someone many prominent members of the GOP think could be the party's own version of Obama. [snip}
No less an aspiring kingmaker than Steve Schmidt, the chief strategist of McCain's failed presidential bid, sees Jindal as the Republican Party's destiny. "The question is not whether he'll be president, but when he'll be president, because he will be elected someday." The anti-tax crusader Grover Norquist believes, too, that Jindal is a certainty to occupy the White House, and conservative talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh has described him as "the next Ronald Reagan." Poor old Jingle head are whatever, a loser, Schhmutt, crowns you and you also will be a loser.
He is 37 years old! Give him a chance to mature.
Could it be because Palin is a woman?? Just saying...
Didn’t someone say that Jindal is not a natural born citizen?!! Forgive me for starting this again, but I remember someone discussing this.
Jindal is very smart and he knows policy like nobody’s business but I think that this may be quite an issue for him if on the national scene:

What has he done that impresses everyone so much? I know he did well with a health department regarding the budget and that he is pro-life. I am not attacking him, just asking for information here.
The fact that a guy like Steve Schmidt likes him doesn’t thrill me.
LOL, I doubt if they would pull anymore votes than mccain.
I’ll take ANY of those in ANY configuration, but let’s face it, the press, rinos and neo-cons will be working extra hard to throw all three under the bus.
Then it will be time dor whoever remains to take on the Dems.
I don’t have a list of his accomplishments, but it seems like every time I see his name associated with controversy, he comes out out on the right side.
I gather the left don’t really like him.
If I recall correctly, he said he would not run for president in ‘12 and was committed to serving two terms as governor (if reelected).
I could be wrong about that though.
Ditto. And the best way to bring that all to ruin is to involve Schmidt.
Didnt someone say that Jindal is not a natural born citizen?!!

Was going to say, it obviously doesn’t matter- But, on reflection, when it’s a conservative—it will.-:)
I’m obviously for Gov. Palin- But anyone who carries her message—aptly termed, “Pro-American”-—I’m willing to listen.
"Jindal."
He will help reconstruct the USSR.
I guess it’s all Good - LOL :)
he has also handled Gustav, rebuilt after Katrina and dramatically cracked down on Louisiana corruption.
He can also connect to minorities. I get the impression from some of the other contenders that they have never even met a black person until the election campaign.
No...it's a good reason not to believe anything Schmidt has to say, except this once.
Jindal is the real deal!
Well, they already blackballed Hunter and tried to smear Palin.
Personally, I would really like to see Hunter on the ticket.
Logistically, I’m thinking a Jindal/Palin or Palin/Jindal ticket could be a winner because they both (so far) are conservative and both are governors.
Of course I still want Hunter with his military experience. (Not to mention is secure border and fence policies)
