To me it is a lie to practice the holiday of Christmas but then say “Happy Holidays”, and I don’t like to be lied to.

AWESOME!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!

For those that don’t know, you can get plastic “buttons” to put these in at your local craft store such as Michaels, Joanns and even Walmart carries them.

I plan on making these for all of my family and friends!!!!

Glad most people want to say in this country “Merry Christmas”. Goes to show that “PC” has gotten out of hand. Just a thought.

What I DON’T understand is why people say “have a nice holiday” for THANKSGIVING, which is a secular holiday (albeit with religious overtones), which even us nonbelievers celebrate. I still say Happy Thanksgiving (and Merry Christmas to anyone I know or suspect of being Christian). I am also NOT offended when a Christian wishes me a Merry Christmas.

Me too, I still say Happy Thanksgiving in greetings as much as possible. You are right about this day being a secular holiday with faith overtones. Went to mass this morning for a special Thanksgiving Day gathering at my parish church. There was a good turnout with music included. Wish during the sign of peace the Happy Thanksgiving greeting. :)

I can't speak for anyone else, but being Jewish, I've never been offended by someone saying “Merry Christmas” to me. If it's a stranger that doesn't know I'm Jewish, why should I be offended. And I'm not offended when someone who DOES know I'm Jewish says “Merry Christmas.” I happen to like going to Christmas parties.

...and that exactly the same reaction that my Jewish friends have.

So who exactly is really complaining on religious grounds?

I am not Jewish, however I have no problem with stores/individuals saying BOTH “Merry Christmas, and Happy Hannuka, or just Happy H?), anyway it’s when I hear “Happy Holidays” that is irk me-it’s as if these corporate jerks are only thinking about their bottom line rather than the true meaning of this season!! ;O)

So who exactly is really complaining on religious grounds?

People who have an axe to grind with Christians and Christianity. And/or publicity whores.
