Mumbai: At least 15 people have been injured in gunfights between two groups in at least three places in Mumbai on Thursday night.
Details are sketchy but it is believed that two gangs fired at each other at outside CST Railway Terminus, Hotel Oberoi and the popular Café Leopold restaurant in Mumbai.
The first shooting took place near the CST police station

No defense for this type of attack from the water. All coastal cities and cities by rivers can be hit relatively reasy. Reminds me of Jeff Heads Dragon series where Cargo ships were used by the Chinese as support platforms from which to launch attacks.
In this case you infiltrate the city days or weeks ahead of time. No weapons just regular pass-ported sleepers. They make contacts with local support insurgents. That group would be impossible to find and they would not be told anything until the day of the attack. If you did find them they would be unarmed with only legal support assets with them. Food, cash and communication equipment. The heavily armed munitions rubber-craft are launched from a licensed commercial transport ship under cover of night. They contact the sleepers and local insurgents with attack plans. Sleepers and insurgents soften targets for the heavily armed commandos from the rubberized crafts. Heavy explosives can be carried in by activated sleepers from the rubberized crafts. These are Barbary Pirate tactics updated to the modern world. Extensively trained Pakistani terrorists, infused with Somali Pirate ransom money and Afghanistan drug profits.
Those commercial transport platforms can travel undetected to just about anywhere in the world. Mumbai was a prime target because it was a peninsula jutting out into the sea. Amazing how long this siege warfare has been going on now. We are into the third day. Still firing and explosions at the Taj.
From Devika Sequeira,DH News Service,Panaji:
It is a moment Kevin Rego will never forget. At 4.30 am on Thursday, he heard his brother Boris dying gasps over the cell-phone after he was gunned down in the Taj Hotel kitchen by the terrorists.
All he could do was whisper my name twice, and then call out to my dad, before the phone went completely silent at his end, Kevin told Deccan Herald. Boris Mario, 23, was among the chefs at the Taj Hotel, cold-bloodedly gunned down by the militants. They forced them into the kitchen sometime after 4.00 am (Friday) and ordered them to make sandwiches
.
As soon as the chefs had finished, they lined up five of them, including my brother, and shot them down, Kevin said. Boris father Urbano is the top chef for the Taj group in Goa.

Scum, lowlife evildoers
NYC could be just as vulnurable as would many other cities unfortunately. I hope the intelligence agencies learn from this.
CNN is going to look at this next, just mentioned it as I was typing this.
It seems there was some knowledge this was coming- but not enough...

“Mumbai attacks: Was computer expert aged 36 the mastermind?”
Published Date: 28 November 2008
By Emily Pykett
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “One possible mastermind and Simi member is Abdul Subhan Qureshi, a 36-year-old computer engineer suspected of being behind multiple bombings in Delhi, Jaipur, Bangalore and Ahmedabad earlier this year.
Qureshi, also known as Tauqeer, is from Mumbai and his expertise with internet security could have played a vital part in pulling off such an ambitious plot, said Mr Neill.
“He is an IT whizz-kid so it is quite possible he is the person investigators will be concentrating on. This is a great embarrassment to the Indian security services because it has been pulled off right under their noses.”
Simi has declared jihad on India, the aim of which is to establish Dar-ul-Islam (land of Islam) by forcefully converting everyone to Islam.”
OPINON:
Dope and dopey ideology.
I’m wondering if more aren’t going in as India takes out others.
That is true, a dead look and hatred.
Yet look at him, he could probably turn on the charm and be disarming when he needed to blend.
I guess they figure if they want to risk getting shot.....
Thanks Cindy.
Frightening that they knew something was up but couldn’t stop it even with the help of the US.
Sounds like they are determined to bring this hotel down.
The people of India consider the Taj something like we would associate with The Empire State Building. They are looking on with horror!
Well, there’s the Sunni/Shia thing, and then “unavoidable collateral damages” for the cause.
OPINION: As I always say, “It’s global jihad/gwot 24/7.”
I understand.
OPINION:
Generally speaking, thhe jihadis have repeatedly expressed interest in:
1. 1 islamic ummah aka no democracy.
2. no free speech — shariah law rules.
3. bringing down the economies of free societies.
4. damaging and/or destroying any symbols of freedom and/or religions
other than islam.
Such non-innocent onlookers could be gleaning info from the cops/military from hearing or viewing, then report back (if the terrorists still have any working sat phones/BlackBerrys) to help them. Or help the mastermind/s tweak future attacks.
I hope the Indian authorities are finding time to view videos of the events.
I have noticed a number of slightly older gawkers who would easily profile as islamists and might be recognized by the Indian anti-terror forces or by Pakistans ISI (possibly as some of their own).

Very good idea,,,
I saw something that I thought was sorta strange,,,
Indian cops? were using old WWI bolt-action rifles in one
of the fire-fights against AK’s !,,,
Fox just reported gunfire at the Taj,,,Still!,,,(6 gunmen).
Time for the GAS!!!
