NDTV-
Owner of fishing vessel has been taken into custody for questioning.
Vessel found in the harbour was sub-crontracted by him to another party, which in turn sub-contractred it to someone else.
My guess is the 3rd sub-contractor is the dead captain.
I’ll help with an Indian cooking thread!
I guess it hasn’t been going on that long actually..and those explosions could have been breaching/entry ops.
was this just an erroneous report (aka lie)?

Ismail alias Zakiruallah, a Punjabi from Faridkot in Pakistan who was arrested by the Mumbai police on Wednesday night during the terror attacks, is giving interrogators the complete story of how the sensational terror operation was planned and executed.
He has told the Mumbai police that he has been trained by the Lashkar e Tayiba, said police sources while giving chilling details of the most daring terror attack in India that has so far killed 101 people — and the horror story is not over, yet.
rediff.com, with help of political and governmental sources in New Delhi [Images] and Mumbai, including from intelligence, has pieced together the government’s thinking on the matter.

Thanks for keeping me in the loop while I was gone.
Before I left I mentioned Sky News had a copy of an e-mail from the supposed terrorists.....I did find this.
__________________________________________________________
Some six hours after the attack on Mumbai began on Wednesday night, Indian media organisations received an e-mail from an unknown group calling itself the Deccan Mujahideen claiming responsibility for the deadly, well-planned operation. “We want to warn the Indian government that they must stop the injustice against the Muslim community,” the email warned.
Security experts however remained sceptical about the existence of the Deccan Mujahideen. Such emails have been issued in the past by other jihadi outfits that have attacked Indian cities. What was unusual this time was the fact that the message was written in Hindi, and not, as on all previous occasions, in English.
An Indian TV news channel also reported that the internet connection used to send the email had been traced to Russia. “There are no ‘indicators of authenticity’ in this email,” intelligence expert B Raman told NewsX channel. By adopting the name Deccan Mujahideen, analysts felt, the organisation behind the attack appeared to be trying to make it seem like the gunmen were from the Deccan plateau region in southern India, one of whose premier cities, Hyderabad, has a politically vocal Muslim population.
Major General RK Hooda, in charge of army operations at Hotel Trident in Mumbai, also told NDTV channel that a terrorist security forces had caught “tried to pretend that he was from Hyderabad.” But Hooda added that intercepts had shown that the terrorists spoke to each other in Punjabi, a language spoken on both sides of the Indo-Pakistan border.

Millionaire gunned down just minutes after telling of Mumbai ordeal
A British shipping millionaire has been gunned down in his hotel room in Mumbai just minutes after the 73-year-old spoke to the BBC via telephone.
Andreas Liveras, was shot literally moments after he gave an eyewitness account of the horrors of the terrorist attacks from his room at the Taj hotel.
He is one of more than 125 people, including dozens of Britons and two Australians who have either been killed, injured or taken hostage by Islamic extremists during the series of co-ordinated raids on western targets.
Mr Liveras was pronounced dead on arrival at St George’s Hospital in Mumbai after suffering multiple gunshot wounds, hospital officials told London’s The Times.

MUMBAI: Terrorists who struck Mumbai had set up advance “Control Rooms” in the luxury Taj and Trident Oberoi hotels which was also targeted and did
prior reconnaisance executing plans worked “over months”, Union Cabinet minister Kapil Sibal said on Thursday night.
Sibal said the unprecedented terror attack in the country’s financial capital was planned “over months” and the terrorists were not carrying AK-47 rifles but sophisticated weapons like MP-6.
“The terrorists have identified the targets earlier. Somebody had told them earlier. Enormous planning went into the incident. The terrorists were dropped by a mother ship and travelled in rubber boats which they docked (at Mumbai),” Sibal said.
Terrorists were not attacking people at random. It was a well though out plan, Sibal said.
They had targeted certain key police officers even when they were wearing vests and protective head gears, he said, adding the terrorists shot them dead within minutes of their arrival.
As security agencies pieced together various leads in the probe on India’s worst ever terror strike, there were reports that a likely marine arm of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba may have been involved in the well-planned attacks that left 125 people dead.
The Union Home Ministry said the terrorists chose the sea route and came to the city in boats before spreading out in the metropolis to carry out the sinister strike.
The assessment by the Centre as Mumbai continued to be under siege for the second day came amid reports that the leader of the armed terrorists involved in the attack was killed by his own men.
I am so sorry Maneesh.
Words aren’t enough to express my sorrow to you.

“Saudi detained on suspicion of funding Indian Mujahideen”
28 Sep 2008, 2018 hrs IST, PTI
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The Indian Mujahideen has been accused of carrying out several serial blasts in Delhi, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Uttar Pradesh.
Police and the Intelligence Bureau are trying to ascertain the funding channel of Indian Mujahideen, a module of which has been cracked following the September 19 gunbattle in south Delhi’s Jamia Nagar.”
The flyover [overpass] outside the domestic airport in Mumbai and a taxi drivers unfamiliarity with the new slip route to the terminal perhaps went a long way in averting a major disaster that could have taken the toll into hundreds on Wednesday night itself.
Shortly before the terrorists moved into their targets in South Mumbai, a black and yellow taxi, with three passengers and enough ammunition to bring down a dome, sped in the direction of the airport. Instead of taking a slip road that would have taken the passengers straight to the airport, the driver took the flyover which bypassed the airport, only to get stuck at a red light.
At rush hour, the lights stayed red for long, at which the passengers berated the driver and asked him to cut the traffic lights. The driver moved on, but the wait turned out to be a minute or two too long. The car exploded. All that was found was a severed head and parts of three human legs. Had the terrorists’ plans of coinciding a blast at the airport with the attacks on the Taj and Oberoi hotels succeeded, the death toll of 26/11 would have been much bigger than it already is.
He said the perpetrators were based outside the country and India would not tolerate neighbours who provide a haven to militants targeting it.

anyone want to take a guess as to who the neighbours are?
