A 19-year-old Florida man committed suicide live on a Web cam, encouraged by those who were watching, according to reports.
Abraham K Biggs, of Broward County, took an overdose of pills while broadcasting himself on Justin.tv, a live video streaming Web site.
Biggs used the Web site to stream footage from his bedroom and told users he would be committing suicide and invited them to watch live.

It has happened before, with the majority of watchers cheering the guy on in that instance with just a couple of people trying to find enough information to alert help. The callous comments below your post generally fall in line with the anonymity afforded by the internet, and are along the lines of those who cheered these people on.
This was a real young man who needed help. While it’s easy to say he gets fifteen minutes of fame, he has real friends and family who will live a lifetime of grief and wondering what they could have done to prevent this.
I’m sure we all know people who would have happily cheered him on. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to find members of this very forum entertained by his death. There is evil in this world.
Not saying it didn’t happen, but I’ve learned not to believe media reports on stuff like this. I’ve never seen them 100% accurate yet.
I’ve no doubt there were some jerks, but I’m sure there were people trying to help also.
Generally, human life has little or no value to younger people these days. A combination of our culture, non existent parenting, and public education are to blame.
I’m having a hard time feeling and pity towards this individual. I understand he was depressed, but I will never tolerate suicide as a legitimate option.
My sympathies to his family.
I pray that his family might have peace.

He was a normal on www.bodybuilding.com and from what the thread was saying he was a regular at trying to kill himself and unsuccessful every time, except this one.
I had a link to the thread but they took it down, roids are a helluva thing to take.

Terribly sad. Brings back memories of a case that caught my eye a few years ago where a guy (Brandon Vedas) did this while chatting on IRC, again egged on by fellow chatters.
