Too bad the judges who release these guy don’t have to keep them in their homes for 6 weeks to verify that they are no danger to America.

Anybody else want to adopt a terrorist?

Depends. Will Social Services be stopping by to check on them? If not, I'll take all five.

I say give ‘em all huge chunks of C4 w/ detonators and release them into Berkely, California. Since they aren’t terrorists, everything should be hunky dory, right?

Now, Now, I know you are upset but over at democrats.com they are still calling for putting GWB in jail, so lets not go postal :)

This type of thing would kill Obama , it’s his weak spot politically, so he may not let it happen.

In my ignorant opinion, this is the crux of the problem with “detainees”. Why isn’t their fate decided more quickly? I think the military is trying to give them a fair shake, but the public seems to just want them these “detainees” to go away. Many would have less of a problem if these detainees were killed instead of captured.

-- I also see no reason why these guys couldn't have been tried by some sort of military panel shortly after they were picked up. --

The factual history says at least Boumedien (I haven't checked the others) was picked up in Bosnia, after the Bosnian courts found insufficient evidence to hold them. The judge looked at the US government's evidence, a classified document from an unnamed source.

That secret document, which the judge said he could not evaluate for credibility or corroboration because the government had not given him information enabling him to do so, did not convince him that the five had a plan to fight against the U.S. or its allies, or even knew of such a plan.

Probably be released in this country since it’s doubtful their native country won’t take them back.

It is doubtful that you read the article.

The Bosnian government already has agreed to take back the detainees, all of whom immigrated there from Algeria before they were captured in 2001.

They SHOULD NOT have been held “infinitely” as enemy combatants! The Bush administration should have been allowed to TRY them YEARS AGO!

"Please forgvie my ignorance, but why DIDN’T the current administration do SOMETHING with these guys before this could occur, especially when they petty much knew some wacko judge would let them go back to the terrorist lives?"

If you'll recall, the military tribunal's set up by the Bush administration to try these scumbags was shot down by the United States Supreme Court, which gave foreign terrorists rights of habeas corpus..

Not everything is Bush's fault. Egad, get a GRIP.

What do they mean, “held without charges?” Sounds like propaganda to make terrorists look sympathetic.

"That is total bs this has never happened before in history. that judge is overstepping his authority!"

Thursday's ruling is the first since the Supreme Court cleared the way last June for civilian courts to hear challenges by detainees being held indefinitely without charges.

The SCOTUS gave him the "authority."

.

I’ve heard that Bosnia will take them back there

They are originally from Algeria - likely illegal aliens in Bosnia - where a PC solution will not come from a Clintonista or GHW Bush or GW Bush appointed radical federal Judge

For some unbiased and irrefutable background look up the “24th” in the Korean War and the Algerian terrorist bombings in France and the US Cavalry “problems” in Missouri and Kansas after the Civil War

Don’t blame me for history!

OK, I had no idea what your ‘bailout over Bosnia’ meant.

Lol, you just know that I am going to run and look all that up. You are talking to the others here!
