Chicagoan Penny Pritzker has emerged as President-elect Barack Obama's choice for commerce secretary, The New York Times is reporting. Pritzker, who was the national finance chairman of the Obama campaign, was in the final stages of vetting for the post, according to the Times.

Whether it’s Pritzker or Holder or any of the other slugs Obama is going to nominate, the question is will any Republican hammer these people? Just once I’d like to see a Republican spend his five minutes bashing the crap out of a RAT witness or nominee. We see the RATS do it all the time, but the Stupid Party seems to view their time for questions as an opportunity to first, lavish praise on the chairman of the committee; second, say how wonderful it is for the witness or nominee to take time out of a busy schedule to spend some time with the committee; third, get interrupted by a RAT member of the committee and enthusiastically yield to that member; and finally, fourth, effusively thank the chairman and the witness or nominee.
T'was me, I confess :) Foolishly, I thought we'd seen the last of her, (knowing full well she would NEVER be investigated properly for the corruption that follows in her wake) but neglected to keep in mind that The Chicago Way is moving to Washington..
Yep...other than making Barney Frank the Commerce head, can you imagine a worse choice? lol
I’d relish watching such a moment as well- but we know it’s unlikely to take place. Yesterday Arlen Specter told us he’d be asking “hard” questions of Holder in the hearings- but wrapped up by saying no matter- I’ll vote for his confirmation.
Look on the bright side, President ‘Odumbo’ is going going to be fun to bang on.
Oy.
Barney Frank.
Words fail me when I think of him.
“Obama’s national finance chairwoman, Penny Pritzker, was chairwoman of the board of a Chicago-area bank in 1993 when it adopted a subprime business strategy that regulators say ultimately led it to collapse in 2001.
Superior’s board and managers “ignored sound risk-management principles and failed to adequately oversee Superior’s operations,” the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation’s (FDIC) Inspector General concluded in 2002.”
Hey you, it’s Thursday and you know what that means....give back that Jack.
They need someone with international money raising connections to preside over the upcoming sale of the United States of America.
If she runs Commerce the way she runs Hyatt, it will be chaos.
And decent people behaving properly and minding their own business will have no rights.
Hey! He may yet!!! Party's just getting started, you know.
CA....
Tom Daschel doesn't count as a 'man'.
But NinePercent Nancy said, “The Party’s over!”
Just watch more ‘capital flight’!
Commerce is not going to like this!

Chicago! Maybe Obama can resuscitate Al Capone and give him a cabinet post! And why not? Chances are, he voted more than once in this election!
I for one would like to see a bunch of his cabinet folks put under major scrutiny and filibustered in a quid pro quo move.
