Mitt Romney Takes on Detroit

By Garance Franke-Ruta

The race for 2012 is already on in the Republican Party, and today failed 2008 contender Mitt Romney appeared to take a stand sure to complicate any future presidential bid. In an op-ed bluntly titled, "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt," the former Massachusetts governor argued against the automobile salaries and pension systems that have for decades helped define the good life in industrial Michigan, where Romney won the GOP primary this winter and where his father was once governor.

Gov Palin HELPED the ticket.
The loss was due to Mitt Romney and his nefarious backstabbers.

Finally a Repub standing up against this insanity. If McDole had stood up against the bailout and named names he would have won in a landslide.

Pray for W, Palin and Our Troops

Yes, and MAss was in such healthy fiscal shape when Romney stepped in to try to save it.

Well, that is really admirable. Looks like McCain’s gimmick didn’t work out to well, oh well, you win some and you lose some.

"Yes, and MAss was in such healthy fiscal shape when Romney stepped in to try to save it." Here, let me fix that for you - Yes, and MAss was in such healthy fiscal shape when Romney stepped in to try to save it.

Really, that’s really interesting, I hadn’t heard that one before. You are the gift that keeps on giving, please keep them coming. Romney has been out of the news since August. If Romney is as powerful as you claim, to be causing that much trouble when he isn’t even in the news, maybe they should have nominated him. Sounds like he has lots of power. Yes, I like Romney, but I also realize that the chances of him ever being President are pretty low unless God decided otherwise. I don’t like seeing good people getting trashed. What do you really know about Palin? Other then how she toots her own horn. What really are her qualifications? Instead of always talking smack about Romney, who you seem hell bent on making sure he is never elected. Why don’t you say what is so great about Palin. Oh, I know, the male supporters seem to have the hots for Palin, that I get, but that’s not a qualification to being elected President. From the male perspective, I get it, but from the woman’s perspective, what is it, I would like to know, because it really doesn’t make any sense at all.

Clearly this is an intelligent and crafted argument that one doesn’t simply stumble onto.

As opposed to MassHealth.

He took it, and he will never recover from it politically.

Nor should he.

Your post ranks with some of the dumbest I’ve ever seen on Free Republic. So dumb, that I’m pretty comfortable you don’t really belong here. So go away, troll.

I heard excerpts of what he said on the radio and as usual as is the case with Mitt he spoke well and made a lot of sense.

No, having Palin on the ticket is the reason why a communist Muslim is going to be in the White House.

You are detached from reality. She picked up a few million votes for us.

Jealous, are you?
