Why not investigate Bush on why the DNC did not do a better job of investigating the new president elect?

If he wishes, President Bush can issue preemptive pardons for all of his people and he can even pardon himself. The presidential pardon power is plenary, and the only exception is not applicable (the President cannot use the power of the pardon in cases of impeachment, only criminal prosecution.)
