They stole Alaska too.

Stevens' lead in Alaska is down to 971 votes. It looks like the Dems are going to get Alaska AND Minnesota.

And there are so-called Conservatives that just want to hand them Georgia as well.

Stevens, Ted REP 118602 47.50%

Begich, Mark DEM 117631 47.11%

The differences between our election system and that of a banana republic are approaching neglibible.

The main difference is the lack of bananas.

We have to find some way to stop the dems’ prolific cheating. Every year it gets worse — and we do nothing!

Yes, we have no bananas.

I simply must read "Plunkitt of Tammany Hall" again.

I’m beginning to think the entire election is voter fraud.

I pray to God my country has not been hijacked.

With 60 the rats WILL pass a new "assault weapons" ban.

Oh, they'll pass it without getting the 60 votes, they'll pass it with the 57 they have now. Too many RINOs who also support violating the Constitution on the RKBA, would vote to invoke cloture, But no pro RKBA Dims, if any are left in the Senate, would vote against it either.

The Republicans never had effective control of Congress. It was only between the 2002 election and the 2006 election that they had a majority in both houses, but they never had 60 seats in the Senate, so the Democrats could always block them.

I think the last time the Republicans had effective control of both houses of Congress and the White House at the same time may have been in the 1920s (but I don't know what the rules in the Senate were at that time--whether their majority was enough for them to get by a filibuster...it used to be that a 2/3 vote was needed to override a filibuster).

I don't care for Stevens,

Stephens won't be around long anyway, but if he wins, Sarah will get to appoint his temporary replacement. Those "temps" very often win in the special election to fill the slot for the rest of the term.

It's gone. There are still 50,000 votes left to count.

Another seat to the filthy rats.

How exactly could they “steal” Alaska? The governor of Alaska is not really a friend of Democrats, I’ve heard. The legislature is strong Republican, the Supervisor of Elections is a Republican. There is no credible way to contend that anyone is stealing this. You KNOW Sarah Palin would be all over that.

Looks like the seat is really gone now:

Begich just took a 3 vote lead.

I really think saying people are stealing the election with out any proof is not something people should be engaging in.

The Dems’ attitude now is essentially....”everyone knows we’re cheating, and there’s not a damn thing anyone can do about it. We’ll do what we want.”

The media has assured that, in my belief. I'm afraid for this country, more so than I was at anytime during the Clinton administration.

The tone of the way the masses are being manipulated is much darker than just the run of the mill Clintonian murder and mayhem. Evil is no longer implied, it is right in front of our faces daring us to do anything about it, knowing our hands are tied.

Interesting times.

Welcome to FreeRepublic, kevin. Republicans have been accused of stealing elections since 2000, without any proof. In fact audits by all the left-leaning news organizations proved President Bush won both times.

I'm operating on the belief that you are young and sincere.

Check out the threads on what is going on in Minnesota. There is proof all over the place if only you take the time to inform yourself, such as why are the newly 'found' votes only in Franken's favor? How is that possible? We had a fairly popular Independent candidate, Dean Barkely, and not one vote for him? More curiously, not one for Coleman in a state where the polls were clearly tipped in this favot?

Why is the SOS of Minnesota a member of ACORN? Now they're are going to look at ballots as 'implied', meaning if there's a pencil scratch somewhere on the ballot it could mean they 'meant' a vote for Franken. You fill in a oval with a black pen to vote here, c'mon! Five people have been deemed by ACORN SOS Ritchie to oversee the ballots. Three of the five are committed Dems. A three to two vote will confirm the intention of a ballot. This is banana republic vote stealing at its' worst.

I hope you have sincere motives with your post. If you do not, I think even you will regret how this is going to turn out. One party rule is never a good thing, just sayin', especially if you value your freedom. Welcome to FR Kevin. There's so much proof to be learned if only you're open to listen to other voices than those your accustomed to hearing.

Monday morning, seven Begich supporters, three Stevens supporters, Republican Party chief Randy Ruedrich and Rep. Bob Buch had all signed up at the Anchorage election headquarters to watch workers sort through the stacks of ballots.
