NEWTOWN, Conn., Nov 10, 2008 /PRNewswire-USNewswire via COMTEX/ -- As firearm sales continue to increase this year, at a rate of 10 percent over the same period last year and 15 percent in October alone, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) -- the trade association for the firearms industry -- is pointing to gun-owner concerns about an Obama Administration as reason for the boom.
Last week President-elect Obama's Web site had posted his administration's agenda for curtailing the Second Amendment rights of law abiding Americans, thereby validating the concerns of gun owners, sportsmen and firearms enthusiasts all across the country. Curiously, the Obama-Biden gun control agenda was taken down from the Web site after just two days.
President-elect Obama's Web site stated he would make permanent the expired "assault weapons" ban of 1994, a ban on firearms that was based on cosmetic appearance, such as the type of stock on the gun, and not functionality. The expired ban did nothing to reduce crime while it was in place. President-elect Obama's Web site intentionally misled the American people by referring to these firearms as "weapons that belong on foreign battlefields." These firearms are not machine guns. In reality, these commonplace firearms that President-elect Obama wants to permanently ban are used in shooting competitions and are found in homes and hunting lodges all across the country. They fire only once with each trigger pull, no spray firing, and they shoot the same ammunition as other firearms of the same caliber.

You can, but you have to have it transferred through a federally licensed dealer. If the stuff hits the fan however, I expect that most folks won’t give a crap, they’ll ship it directly to you no questions asked. It will be “to hell with government regulations.”
Likewise, I have no intention of allowing my fellow Americans who prefer communism to freedom to force thier will upon me unopposed.
I believe all firearm transactions across state lines must go through an FFL to be legal.
I think the only exception to that is firearms that are willed to someone.
In many states, you can buy long guns from dealers in neighboring states, but not face-to-face transfers between individuals across state lines. Many dealers won’t do this because the transfer needs to be legal in both states and they don’t want to keep up with their own state laws and all the neighboring states.
You can get a Curio and Relics (C&R) license that lets you transfer firearms across state lines for your own collection, but it doesn’t let you do business as a dealer. This is limited to specific weapons designated C&R. These are older firearms, some common examples of C&R weapons are SKS, Mausers, and Mosin-Nagants.
To buy a gun from someone out of state, you buy the gun, the seller ships it to an FFL holder in your state. You go to the dealer fill out the 4473, pay a transfer fee and pick up your firearm.
“Come and get them”
That is what I expect would happen. There may be a turn in time, then they will get the ATF records that you thought had been destroyed and they will visit YOU alone with men in black wearing masks and YOU alone will think of your family behiind you and you will show them were they are. Maybe you have some offsite but probably not.
Shep called us gun buyers MENTAL? What was his exact wording?
I know Shep is a little light in the loafers and he wears too much eye makeup, but I wouldn’t have thought he would say gun buyers are mental!

Personally, I wouldn't teach her jack. A leopard doesn't change its spots. She'll still be a flaming liberal but with a CCW license and some idea of how to shoot.
Since then, Fox reporters/commentators have been given the word from management not to be critical or report disparaging news about the Messiah.
Lots of bitter religious people out there. . . .

I'm getting fed up with Fox news as well, and Schwepp is part of the reason. He's such a whiney, candy-ass weasel. I still remember his whining on that bridge in New Orleans post-Katrina. His calling people buying guns "mental" is a good reason for me to let my Wall Street Journal (same owner as Fox) subscription run out and start getting Investors' Business Daily instead. The WSJ was about 1/2 in the tank for Obambi anyway. Apparently, they think that socialism/communism is good for business.
“Molon labe!” (”Come and take them!”)
— Response of Spartan king Leonidas to the Persians at Thermopylae when they demanded the Spartans surrender their weapons.
I don’t have any stock or anything offsite. I live in NYC and I refuse to have to register a firearm if I want one.
A formidable question. But one must ask their self whether they'd rather live on their knees or die on their feet. And they must ask themselves if they want their children to be raised in a communist country.
People don't seem to grasp just what type of person was just elected as President of this once-great country. Obambi has the potential to be the next Manuel Noriega, and if that starts to unfold, there will only be one answer.
I think you’ve expressed where the line is pretty well.
The next decision is how to act accordingly.
I’ll be buying myself a rifle soon - didn’t think much of it at the time but now prices are prolly gonna be jumping.
He isn’t so stupid as to actually try to confiscate them. He will just make it impossible to own them legally or to get ammo for them by imposing “safe storage”, huge punitive ammo taxes, “smart gun” technology (that the government can use to disable guns), force the sale of spare gun parts through FFL dealers ONLY, “arsenal” taxes, etc.
"You guys know youre going to do exactly what the government tells you. At least half of the posters here are pretenders."
LOL Are you having a good time yet?
Damn Trolls
Will the tyrants run out of jackboots before patriots run out of deer rifles?
I won't wake up in such a nation in four years.
I'm thinking that the ObamaCorps will be wearing Greenshirts.
I can’t give you the exact words, except he did call people buying guns “mental” and that they have made a “leap” in thinking that their gun rights are under attack, because the reporterette (Cathrine Herridge(sp?) said that Obama had not promised gun control DURING THE FALL CAMPAIGN. Then Shep implied that the gun buyers were dupes being victimized by greedy gun stores playing off of people’s fears...
