Palin Blames Bush Policies for GOP Defeat
Monday, November 10, 2008 9:16 PM
WASILLA, Alaska Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, amid speculation she'll run for president in four years, blamed Bush administration policies for the defeat last week of the GOP ticket and prayed she wouldn't miss "an open door" for her next political opportunity.
"I'm like, OK, God, if there is an open door for me somewhere, this is what I always pray, I'm like, don't let me miss the open door," Palin said in an interview with Fox News on Monday. "And if there is an open door in '12 or four years later, and if it is something that is going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation, an opportunity for me, then I'll plow through that door."
In a wide-ranging interview with Fox's Greta Van Susteren, Palin says she neither wanted nor asked for the $150,000-plus wardrobe the Republican Party bankrolled, and thought the issue was an odd one at the end of the campaign, considering "what is going on in the world today."
"I did not order the clothes. Did not ask for the clothes," Palin said. "I would have been happy to have worn my own clothes from Day One. But that is kind of an odd issue, an odd campaign issue as things were wrapping up there as to who ordered what and who demanded what."
"It's amazing that we did as well as we did," Palin, who was Sen. John McCain's running mate, said of the election in a separate interview with the Anchorage Daily News.

Not a good move, Sarah.
The 11th commandment ..
Sarah needs a subscription to National Review for the next 4 years, and then I think she’ll be ready.
Even Newsmax is twisting her words.
The headline is an over simplification

She does a decent job.
She didn’t say anything that any of us don’t say on a daily basis around here. Bush hasn’t been conservative, so it makes everyone else look bad. Of course, her real problem was McCain more than Bush, but she’s not going to say that yet, if at all.
How can you expect Republicans to be conservative without taking those that stray from conservatism to task?
Ready to do what? Be a RINO like the people who write for NR?
Speak for yourself.
RINO? Oh please. Are the FReepers critizising Bush also RINOs? We take issue with many of his policices from an Conservative POV. Bush did good on many important issues, but he was not the Conservative we needed and hoped for. Reagan was Conservative, Bush was an ok moderate-right President, like his father or Nixon before him.
I watched the entire interview and it can be easily misunderstood in that little snippet.
Sarah is a true maverick unlike the RINO McCain. She has always been able to stand up to liberals and even her own party and call them out when she believes they are wrong. Do we expect her to stop now?
Thank God she is not politically correct! McCain’s campaign never letting her speak her mind was a huge mistake. They kept her on too tight a leash. Those of us who respect her would appreciate her honesty.
She calls everyone out on both sides. What liberal do you know that ever does that?
You Go Sarah!!

Palin, as usual, nails it. True straight talk. BTW, the whole thing about her wardrobe is just an MSM/Romney attempt to paint her as a ditzy fashion plate ala Paris Hilton. Screw Romney and screw McCain’s people (not McCain, respect his service too much to go that far even if he is a RINO).

Aw, c’mon. What publication would you recommend that is smart, broad, and conservative?
Weekly Standard, Wall Street Journal, etc. are RINOs.
If National Review doesn’t meet your standards of conservatism, the Birchers are looking for a few good men. Or not so good, as necessary.
I would really be interested to know what sites or publications are conservative, if NR/NRO doesn’t fit the bill.
Bush’s Fault..
I was the youngest in my family and the scapegoat role came early.. One story is that while I was a baby, my sister (a year older) grabbed a stick of butter and squeezed it...she then looked at my mother and said “(woofie) do that!”
I am sick of Bush’s fault ...maybe they should have said ...Bush has been right more than he was wrong ...Obama will change that all right.
Sorry if I misunderstood your post. After a second look, I guess you were calling the NR RINOs, not Sarah. If so, forget about my previous response.
