Rumor Patrol: Romney Camp Spreading Palin Stories?

07 Nov 2008 06:07 pm

Rumor: Aides and advisers to Mitt Romney are responsible for spreading most of the anti-Palin stories that have been going around; during the campaign, they pressured reporters to look into reports of tension between McCain and Palin factions.

I'll note you have failed to provide a single source indicating Mitt signed gay marraige.

Always parsing the words...

There you go again citing WorldNutDaily.

When will you learn the difference between an online tabloid filled with nonsense and a credible source?

This sounds an AWFUL lot like the MORMON take on the BIBLE!!!

I’m sure you have read these by now:

“Almost every critical remark made about Palin
on a recent briefing call about her selection came from political consultants
with ties to Romney. Those comments were planted, says one,
because they knew that reporters would be on the call.”

[Washington Prowler, American Spectator, Storm Center, 9/2/2008]

This reminds Conservatives of Romney’s fake badges and attacks on Sen Thompson.

Novak: Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign

Said Novak: The rumors were “traced in part to Mitt Romney’s campaign,
trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson.”

As for religion, as you claim not to be a Mormon or a believer in any way, there is no issue you can take with a Christian’s duty as spelled out in the Bible to defend the integrity of Scripture. This is the main issue with Romney.

Good luck. (I would say God Bless but I don’t think that applies.)

Yup. All those stories are based on anonymous sources. In my experience, 9 times out of 10, a story based on an anonymous source ends up being wrong.

Ah, so your true colors come out. The main reason you oppose Romney for political office is because he is Mormon. Thanks for clarifying it.

FYI, I agree Mormonism teaches false doctrine. However, this has nothing to do with his fitness for office. There is a reason the constitution prohibits subjecting candidates religious tests.

I just do not understand the animosity toward Romney and his religion. Romney would have been a very strong candidate. Instead we got stuck with one who was a liberal and who didn’t even want the job. He couldn’t wait to run up on stage to give his concession speech.

Guess what: I'll never trust Romney-He’s a R I N O !

He's not a RINO (Republican In Name Only). Sadly, he IS exactly what the Republicans have become. He's tried to pass himself off as a Conservative. Therefore, he's a RICH (Republican In Conservative Haberdashery).

When are you going to learn that a lie never becomes truth, no matter how often you repeat it?

Yet the LDS Organization®, based in SLC, continues to publish this stuff year after year...

http://scriptures.lds.org/en/js_h/1/19#19
17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!
18 My object in going to inquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. No sooner, therefore, did I get possession of myself, so as to be able to speak, than I asked the Personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right (for at this time it had never entered into my heart that all were wrong)—and which I should join.
19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.”
20 He again forbade me to join with any of them; and many other things did he say unto me, which I cannot write at this time. When I came to myself again, I found myself lying on my back, looking up into heaven. When the light had departed, I had no strength; but soon recovering in some degree, I went home. And as I leaned up to the fireplace, mother inquired what the matter was. I replied, “Never mind, all is well—I am well enough off.” I then said to my mother,
“I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.”

We are tired of your lying.

1) Romney was a weak candidate. Lost everywhere.
Lost at FR with only 12% on polls.

2) Romney backstabbed McCain, Thompson and Gov. Palin
and her children, and America by throwing the Election
to Romney’s co-fascist socialist, Obama.

3) Romney is a carpetbagger who imposed his socialized
medicine and gay marriage/polygamy/gay elementary school
upon Massachusetts.

4) The ONLY people who brought up Mormons were Romney’s
supporters who equate criticism of Romney with an
alleged “attack on Mormonism”.

Seeing as how I'm not a Mormon, I really don't give a fig about what the LDS Organization, or whatever you want to call it, publishes.

They can decree it as an article of faith that God is a pink elephant for all I care.

What they believe is their business. If you don't agree with them, then do what I do: ignore them.

If Romney were going around preaching LDS nonsense, then I suppose I would have a problem with him. But he doesn't do it. So long as he keeps the peculiarities and oddities of his faith to himself, which he always has done during his political career, then it's none of anyone's business but his, and God's.

I’d feel the same way about Romney if his religious affiliation was the KKK (yes they believe they are Christians and quote Scripture.)

Your objection to my argument on religious grounds begs the question: would the Declaration and Constitution have been the same documents if the Founders were Muslims?

As a man believes, so he is — and so he governs.

My criticisms of Romney are sound. Would you prefer I judge him by Marxist/dialectic standards? He’d score high on that test. Or how about feminist standards of criticism? He’d fail those utterly.

The best way to judge a man is on his system of belief. What motivates him is what dictates his behavior.

You can’t pull the “religious vs. political” false argument here because Mormonism dictates Utah politics and has since its inception as an insurgent state in 1859.
