Calif. gov.: 'We will maybe undo' Prop 8
United Press International ^ | November 10, 2008

Posted on 11/10/2008 8:03:59 AM PST by Zakeet

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger Sunday said "we will ... maybe undo" a measure passed by voters Tuesday stripping same-sex couples of the right to marry.

Proposition 8 amends the state constitution to declare that "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California." It came in reaction to a state Supreme Court ruling that laws prohibiting same-sex marriage violated the state constitution.

In an appearance Sunday on CNN, Schwarzenegger said the state Supreme Court might overturn Proposition 8, the Los Angeles Times reported. He also said it is likely Proposition 8 will have no effect on the estimated 18,000 same-sex marriages already recorded in California.

"It's unfortunate, obviously, but it's not the end," Schwarzenegger told CNN. "I think that we will again maybe undo that, if the court is willing to do that, and then move forward from there and again lead in that area."

“”He will have the gay vote for his senate run. The only question is whether he will caucus with the dems or the pubbies.”

Does it really matter? Is there REALLY any difference down in Versailles? Just compare the two “choices” we had for the Presidency:

McCain was against drilling in ANWR - same as 0bama.
McCain was against the Bush tax cuts - same as 0bama.
McCain was for amnesty - same as 0bama.
McCain was for universal health care - so was 0bama.

We are doomed to become loyal little soviets until we get somebody with cojones to stand to the people who want to destroy this country. Otherwise, we better have a place other than a Stalag to go to.

All the more need for a US Constitutional Amendment to protect marriage.

I thought that they want to seperate church and state, now they want to be married before god whats wrong with them ?

It isn't about "marriage", per se. It's about using the force of government guns to compel "Archbishop Traditional", "Rabbi Torah", and "Pastor Moral" to do something their religious beliefs tell them is wrong.

To the militant homosexual lobby, the belief is, if you won't partake of, and join, my rebellion against G-d's order *willingly*, then I'll force you to...

HE will get a promotion into the Kennedy dynasty White House.

Thank God if he does. At least, he'll be out of the Republican party and out of office.

We're talking about 21st century ultra-liberal California, not 1960s conservative California.

All it will take to get him out if Prop 8 is a sizable portion of those furious over it being overturned. Throw in the fact that his management of the budget and taxes increases are also unpopular and a recall is very possible. Many Democrats would likely even go along.

I’m no fan of this guy, but I am all for keeping the government out of anybody’s personal life, and against meddling with The Constitution. I don’t need The Constitution, or a state Constitution, to tell me homosexuality is wrong. I’ve got The Bible. Leave The Constitution to Caesar.
I figure that if we start looking to the government to legislate the morals of the majority, it’s a bad sign. Look at France, with a majority now identifying as atheists or agnostics: if that majority wanted to force we Christians by law to accept their values, where would we be? I personally want to avoid a State that has power over my choices, whether those choices are right with God or wrong. This particular amendment doesn’t affect me, obviously, but the next one could, and I’m not losing any of my freedoms without first exercising my Right to Bear Arms.

We're seeing a preview of coming attractions. "Peace-and-equality, bleeding-heart" liberals are actually destroyers - what we've always known. They'll have their day spoken of in Daniel below. Their "day of desolation" may be very close...

And... shall stand up a vile person (who) shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. Daniel 11:21

And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. Daniel 8:25

Now for the good news - their day will end quickly...

but he shall be broken without hand (ie. God himself steps in to break him). Daniel 8:25

Is there an official recall effort against Schwarzenegger? The few I’ve found are not well funded and don’t look promising. I don’t like Schwarzenegger, but all the Democrats on the left are against Proposition 8 as well, and surely a recall would lead to a far left leaning Democrat Governor. We’re stuck with these bad leaders, but this was one proposition that gives me some hope for the future of California.

Better a far-left Democrat in office than a far-left Republican. It's much easier to run a moderate conservative against an incumbent liberal Democrat in the next election.

I’m aware of that. I was replying to a post that said he would make the, “California Sales Tax rate = 10.25%”. That is incorrect.

The state sales tax is 7.25%

The Kennedy clan bought and paid for this election and they WILL re-claim grandure.

What? I thought it more likely that this was a George Soros coup.
